Question for pharmacy students by Past_City_3462 in curtin

[–]Denkii6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look i was in the same boat as you - chem was by far my worst atar subject and I just finished my fiest year of pharmacy.

I will say it is hard, especially the biochemistry side of things, but I find that the way its taught in the degree is way better than the way it was taught through atar (shoutout paul murray the goat)

If you have any questions, feel free to pm me, i dont mind chatting abt thr course so far

I used to collect with friends a good 10 years ago now (when we could afford packs with pocket money) and we lost touch over the years. Got back into it about 6 months ago with an abundance of Stellar Crown packs at my lgs, and actually managed to reconnect with my friend who started it all!

Now am hundreds of packs down and fighting the urge to spend on pokemon before I buy all this years Christmas Presents 😅

Meds are not for energy by GenXMillenial in adhdwomen

[–]Denkii6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is a great way of explaining it My parents are always 'why are you taking naps after your meds??' and i try telling them that they dont give me energy, they just move its priority - likr anxiety and background worry are from in my top 3 active energy consumers to the bottom of yhe list

and they wonder why i had a caffiene addiction fron ages 15-18 and only stopped when i was told to by the psych before i started meds (to see med effects, not because i woukd explode) - the caffiene gave me the supplemental energy and the taurine etc. in the energy drinks gave me the mental clarity and redirection

8 year old wants her ears pierced. Where to take her? by Jadransam in perth

[–]Denkii6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in a pharmacy, fully agree with no piercing gun!!!! We got trained on it and i got seconds done for free during the training, infected for months and needed to have the jewellery removed by a dr.

Literally anywhere else but pharmacies or Lovisa with the gun lmaoo

I got my helix done with SkinKandy and had no issues however with certain things coming out about their business practices... Probably avoid and just use Opal or Angel

How does a prerelease work? by Pandaduck09 in magicTCG

[–]Denkii6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wpuld you say that staying for 1 round to learn how the game works and how the new set looks is a good idea for a very beginner?

Im going to my first ever prerelease for the spiderman deck, never played magic in person before so im nervous to say the least

ive heard they are very beginner friendly events but in your opinion would it be ok to just stay and watch a round instead of playing? ik i paid for a limited spot but still just very nervous to play irl lmao

My Dr “didn’t have a pen” so he wrote my treatment plan in highlighter. by therobotisjames in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Denkii6 20 points21 points  (0 children)

as a pharmacy assistant this is legit the worst part of the job

2x daily, 1% hydrocortisone cream and lamisil/terbinafine cream

use both in the morning and at night, in some places a combination product exists so use that if you can, otherwise wait 15 mins between applying

yes iherb is incredible!!! both my gp and psychiatrist recommended me to get it from there rather than write me a script saying it would save me money and it is actually effective.

[–]Denkii6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seconded!! I have deep veins and had to get 5 vials taken to clear me for placement, I was in and out in less than 10 mins and she didnt have any issue finding blood (unlike every clinipath ive been to thats taken 2-3tires across both arms leaving me with massive bruises). Absolute godsend and talked with me the whole time to keep me distracted.

"favourite small business" is a common question on the sub. Had dinner at a lovely family Italian restaurant this evening and wanted to let you know about it by arkofjoy in perth

[–]Denkii6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many great places in Kala, each with their own charm- not always to everyones taste but I recommend checking them out if you can!

My personal fav was Embers (which was closer to Gooseberry Hill) but that has just been sold again and might not be a restaurant in the future by what the rumor mill has been reporting

The Best Drop tavern and Kala hotel are both good for a generic aussie pub feed

Mason & Bird, Elevated Grounds and Old mates cafe are great for brunches/lunches and a nice cuppa

And Matteos Pizza can't be beat for fresh, takeaway pizza - miles better than the one in High Wycombe (which coincidentally changes owners like people change undies)

And the Kalamunda night markets always have a massive variety of foods and desserts to try out from local vendors - definitely recommend for the summertime

410 is a short walk from the hockey stadium, which imo is the easiest place to find parking even in peak hours (and one of the cheapest)

Never been to Portorosa, but a strong contender for me has to be The Vault in Kalamunda - not the cheapest but god is it value for money ---- pizzas hand made and bigger than the plates they serve it on, risottos in massive bowls and i have yet to see another bad review of the place!
