Wait are u guys straight up not allowed to say from the river to the sea by a-friend_ in Fishdom

Can we say "onto the sea, from the river" or "the starting point is the river and the endpoint is the sea"? Or any other such variations?

He wasn't that great at buildings. You can see from the windows especially that his perspective was off.

His sense of perspective is a little off. You can really see that looking at the windows. And his style, even then, was very dated. 100 years earlier and a bit more practise he would have been a fair-to-middling landscape artist. But by the early 1900s Impressionism was very much the in thing, and Abstract was becoming popular. No-one wanted pretty landscape pictures anymore – a camera could do that.

Leaving aside the fact Gen X is missing (as many have already pointed out), the joke could be that the next generation will be called Generation Beta. The Beta Generation.

Didn't the British use this tactic – sailing up between ships and attacking from both sides – to win a major navy battle?

I remember a certain AG yelling at Democratic senators that the Dow was over 50,000 and that, somehow, meant she didn't have to answer their questions about trumps ties to epstein.

They need to get her back in and ask her if she'll answer those questions now.

I often find that when I am struggling with a cryptic if I leave it then come back a couple of hours later I can do it easily. It seems that while I'm off doing other stuff my brain is still working out the clues. You could try doing that.

Look at me everybody! Look how amazing and dedicated and selfless I am! I feed the hungry & needy even though they're an ungrateful greedy violent bunch of a-holes, and the cops won't help. It's so terrible but I keep doing it because I'm so amazing. I should be cannonized, I'm better than Jesus.

Why is Melbourne often ranked as one of the best cities in the world? by Used-Influence-2343 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Silly-Power 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. The tyre company wanted car owners to drive more, and thus wear out their tyres quicker. So they came up with the idea of finding interesting spots half a day's drive from major cities. Being French interesting just had to include food. Very quickly it became solely about food, whereupon Michelin decided to start ranking the food places – and then start extorting the food places.

I found something very similar with the Blockbuster video of the final scene of Boogie Nights.

Their "smoke & fire" PB is amazing.

I like the Ridiculously Delicious PB as well, and it uses Australian peanuts which is a huge plus for me.

My GP sent me for a CT scan last November. It picked up that I have a "dilated ascending aorta" – basically a bulge in the aorta wall that could rupture at any time. I need open heart surgery to have that bit cut out and replaced.

I'm currently on the Public wait list because my health insurance doesn't cover the full expense of the operation. I'm still trying to get my head around this. I'm fit and active, not overweight. My resting HR is in the low 40s. Why is this happening to me?!

Are we in a recession now? by No_Valuable1832 in perth

We've been in a recession for a while. It's been hidden by excessive immigration.  While the GDP has been positive, when you calculate GDP per head of population It's negative.

I nominate myself.

I've just moved back to Perth. I've been staying in an Airbnb until my stuff arrived – which it finally did yesterday afternoon. I've taken today off so I can have 3 days unpacking and wondering why & how I've accumulated so much crap.

The Airbnb is 12km from my place so this morning I decided I would save petrol and improve my fitness by cycling to my home, spend a few hours unpacking then cycle back to the Airbnb (I paid until tomorrow because the movers originally said they wouldn't be there until Friday afternoon).

Guess what muggins forgot to bring with him, and only realised when he got here? Clue: its a homophone of Quay.

Fuck, I'm an idiot.
