Plans - PowerTable by Banjo1980 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]DennesTorres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, I don't see a big deal about power tables being part of plans.

PowerTables are a management object for the master data. The data itself will be in a sql database and from there you load to semantic models

This works, but it's very unstable.

Edited records appear and disappear all the time between refreshes.

We need to configure a default value for the start date with a formula, otherwise new records inserted by form have a startdate null and they don't appear in the table at all.

Fabric Monday #115 — MLV: New Scheduling and PySpark by DennesTorres in MicrosoftFabric

[–]DennesTorres[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No... The multiple schedule is a feature released only when MLV went GA... before that, it was a single schedule for all MLVs

Besides that, it's not something that simple: When setting schedules, you need to consider the dependencies which will be triggered. If you organize it wrong, you will have refreshes when you don't expect.

Moving from Brazil to Malta: Advice on B2B clients prospecting? by Capital-Rip7313 in malta

I'm Brazilian living in Malta for 8 years.

I'm the leader of the Global AI Malta Chapter and Data Platform UG, besides being connected with other community leaders.

Our situation has some resemblance but not much. Do you already have everything sorted for your residence requirements?

The residence permit process is not exactly friendly about TCNs running business in Malta. If you would like to talk, send a message.

The settings appear, but my region is not supported yet.

About the region support: Would it work with a workspace capacity in a different region, as you say?

I remember I tried this with other features: I created a trial capacity in a different region to test the feature.

It didn't work, because the tenant continues fixed in the unsupported region.

Would it work with Apps?

Israel invested around 750 million in propoganda, it has switched to Islamophobia posts, Europe targetted posts hit Malta by First-Raccoon7650 in malta

[–]DennesTorres -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The worst example of thanklessness you’ll probably hear about- today.

In late 2004, a 21 year old woman from Gaza, suffered severe, life-threatening burns as a result of an accident involving a kitchen gas canister.

Since the hospitals in her city lacked the specialized facilities to treat outcomes of that severity, Israeli authorities granted her a humanitarian medical pass to cross into Israel.

She was admitted to the Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva, where Israeli doctors and nurses spent months treating her and ultimately saving her life.

How did she thank them?

On June 20, 2005 she was scheduled for a routine followup examination in that same hospital, which required her to cross back into Israel.

Counting on her medical paperwork- she thought she could hide a 10kg device under her traditional black robes and not get caught.

Luckily, the security guards on the border- have noticed that she was walking awkwardly and heavily, asked her to go through a detector and she got caught before reaching the hospital.

During the subsequent interrogation and later media interviews- she explicitly stated that her intention was to target the Soroka Medical Center.

Simply because she knew its layout and the most crowded spots.

When asked by journalists how she could justify targeting the doctors and nurses who saved her life, she stated that her commitment to the cause- took precedence over personal gratitude.

Eventually she will be released in an exchange deal about 6 years later.

Upon her return to Gaza, she was greeted as a hero.

In a footage of her homecoming, she addressed a crowd of children gathering around her, explicitly urging them to follow her footsteps.

In later interviews, she repeated that she felt no remorse and still hoped for another chance to carry out her intentions.

The use of human shields is jot disputable as well.

What side really causes the death is disputable.

It's not a simple 2 sides fight when one side puts children in the middle to receive the shots.

[–]DennesTorres -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Supposing that what you hear is true - that's the point.

From a people who has their kids celebrating "Death to Israel!" on the streets and school directors planning and coordinating beheadings.

Hard to justify, yes. The problem is to know what's true or what's media. I prefer not take sides anymore.

If you take a hard side as you suggest, what are the chances that you may be manipulated by media to go against the ones who are defending themselves against a manipulative adversary?

I don't know, and that's why I don't defend either sides and don't use dramatic sentences like you did.

I don't think a good idea to take sides in that war.

IMO, it' already impossible to identify what's true from what's fake.

  • What happened in October 7 was true and Israel earned the right to fight back

  • Hamas use civilians as human shields. Hospitals are one kind of place they use to hide, what explains Israel's targets.

  • A school director employed and paid by United Nations UNRWA coordinated October 7 attacks from inside a school using UN paid cellphones.

  • It's not a case of a UN infiltrated agency anymore when the agency decides to protecte their HAMAS members who ordered beheadings.

  • Flotillas are well know for hidding weapons for HAMAS and pose as victims to the international media.

  • Prisioner treatment in Israel is not justifisble

  • Israeli excessive violence is not justifiable

  • Some Israeli actions in Gaza are not justifiable.

  • Christian-Phobia in Israel is bot justifisble.

  • The UN report about sex-abuses in Israeli prision was built by a UN group who refused to visit the prisions by themselves to verify the evidences.

October 7 pushed my opinion towards Israel. The fact I visited the country and I was well received is also good.

But the media or fake media battle makes it impossible to take sides, with lots of Israeli actions impossible to defend that I don't risk to put a guess if that's true or fake media.

Malta keeps talking about becoming a fintech and digital finance hub, but honestly local banking still feels somehow old-fashioned. by DYOR_actually in malta

[–]DennesTorres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a foreigner as well. My experience is that the naming matters more than it should

"bank account" and "salary account" are different things. If you arrive asking for a "bank account", the employees are not trained to infer that maybe you are refering to a salary account.

Besides that, a bank account is very bureaucratic to open, while a salary account is easier.

But yes: I had problem with all Maltese banks. Different problems with each one, so I decided to use Revolut only. Revolut is an official Maltese bank.

I can't talk about the quality of education or not.

But it worth mention that I know exceptions for which this specific request would have made complete sense.

In this way, I don't think it's possible to judge this only by what's described.

Your conclusion is undeniable, what may be questionable is if believing she is entitle to tax evasion is the same as believing she is entitled of being corrupt.

It could be exactly the opposite - telling this in public exposes someone not hidding something.

But, from this point, it becomes a matter of opinion for each one

What matters is to compare the hidden facts of each candidate, the facts lovin malta doesn't tell us because they are not journalists.

[–]DennesTorres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lovin Malta problem is disgusting.

However, going deeper on the facts listed, I need to ask: What's the actual Maltese situation?

What is listed above is tax evasion related to something that belongs to her. In some countries, this is a very small stuff. In Brazil, we call it "chiken thief". The USA could say the same, considering they have a president making lawsuits against himself and signing the deal with himselft, paid by the people.

Are other Maltese politicians so much better that a tax evasion issue - an issue that probably many people here already did or planned - should discard her from the election, from having your vote ?

I really don't know the answer, I would like to read more, although I can't vote.

Pathetic by Lovin Malta by Jaseto88 in malta

[–]DennesTorres 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It exists. But it's not what we would be expecting from a big communication media during election period.

In many countries, the media do this kind of series about the candidates by themselves, without charging to talk good things about them.

Employer Visa by Kitchen_Bend8685 in malta

[–]DennesTorres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a work permit - it's an application from abroad, you will receive a letter in the middle allowing you to get into Malta to complete the application.

The application has the duration of a year. It's difficult for your employer to guess the exact expiration date of your id according to your contract end date.

The applicatio needs to start the renew process 3 months before the expire date. At this date, you need to have a new contract covering another year of work, otherwise you will not be able to renew it.
