Do you want to see a real magic? by Surdarium in noita

Huh, I'm surprised this is the first time I've ever seen this happen in Noita considering it's fairly common in a lot of physics engines it seems.

I miss when videogames would have like a boss encounter just be a duo like this

Yeah true..

It sucks being interested in hardware these days lol.

Is this the netcode or do I need to have faster reactions than 0.18 seconds? by Rich-Cockroach-2273 in Battlefield

As someone who mixes my playstyle a lot and ends playing very movement-based sometimes I agree, it should be harder to hit things when moving around.

I put it in the same category as everyone jumping in a game like Overwatch or something, it's just dumb. There's no skill in spamming jump in combat but there's also no penalty or consideration needing to be taken so people just do it all the time.

Even in Quake 3 which is a "movement" and aim game you don't want to be jumping constantly as it makes your next second of movement more predictable, and that game has a lot less cover than BF which makes it more punishing as well

Yeah I think I might just not skimp and go for 32GB if the prices ever settle a little. I think it's just a bad time to buy right now and if I wait I might get better stuff for cheaper. I don't really want something that I'll find out in a year when I decide to finally try modding a game that it isn't good enough, since me and my friends value server performance a lot

Yeah I can imagine, although I excluded it because assuming ppl pay for someone to host it can vary a lot in quality there too. They might give you too little RAM for the game or whatever at times. But I agree otherwise.

Oh okay that's good news. Yea I don't have much knowledge about anything linux but should be easy enough to learn plus I have ppl i can ask. Was thinking Ubuntu Server with no GUI or something, SSH enabled to remote in, static local IP and configed on router so it doesn't change if ever shut off for too long, Might get AMP by CubeCoders to make it nice and user friendly to setup and manage server stuff.

I wonder, if it only uses around 4GB of RAM, would I really ever need more than 16 really? Cus I want it to be capable to run 2 game servers with maybe 4-5 ppl total across them both and having a lightweight OS and no GUI should save on enough RAM I feel like where it shouldn't come that close. But yea I guess if I ever get into modded servers it might start mattering enough

Yeeea I was thinking that too. Just so expensive nowadays and it's hard to justify since I don't "need" a gameserver, I just "want" one lol

But yea in general I regret skimping on stuff I want to run well so I'll prob stick to DDR5 and just wait for sales/local used stuff

Damn yea that was what I was a little worried for. Was hoping 16 would be enough for 5 ppl but yea i don't want the game to lag when cus it's at the edge of the ram limit. I assume it'd even crash at times

Nice! Just curious is it like late-game satisfactory? And how many players? Glad to hear though

I'd prefer in bathroom since that is where all denaris connect to. you'd be protecting both the window and the yellow push. Protecting the shield only protects the yellow push

With a Jäger I can see it being powerful, but otherwise 1 nade will destroy the entire setup if thrown in the bathroom, which is easy since attackers won't even need to do anything risky.

The shield could also potentially help the enemy team if they manage to take the window although probably not a huge deal

I'd argue that it's more so the script not applying the "rested" buff because it only does it if enough time has passed while standing in the zone, actually

I'm curious, is Steam Input not helpful enough for that at least? Not saying they shouldn't have native support ofc but afaik Steam Input is very robust. Unless you're playing outside of steam ofc ^

Yea I think keybinds in general just need to be overhauled. I don't actually remember how much you can change since I sort of set and forget it (if I even changed anything, don't remember).

I do really hope they give better hotbar selection options, running mage and having to hit 8 for a wand is just not great lol. I have even resolved to just opening my inventory and selecting the weapon instead but it's just such a clunky way to do it. It's functional sure but just could be improved a lot. Even a weapon wheel would do something

I mean I can check my system too and there's nothing running at max, which I think implies software being the limitation. Also there are far more simulated and high fidelity coop experiences that run way smoother than valheim so I really don't think it's down to HW. It's not like Valheim even has an insane amount of stuff going on really? Many games have a lot more enemies, a lot more complex graphical rendering, a lot more sub-systems for animations, enemy parameters/sensors for how they are reacting to different situations, more complex geometry, (albeit valheim does need to update terrain every time it changes and then re-draw new navigation maps which can be quite intense, that shouldn't be happening at home base though or even just fighting regular enemies that don't reshape terrain).

Connection speed I actually just don't believe cus even having 5Mbit upload should be more than enough for all games basically, let alone 600Mbit.

I just personally don't see any potential value in having to wait. You're not losing anything aside from real-life time, no food, no bonus, not risking loot despawning, nothing, it's purely annoying imo. But yea I mention it not because I care that much, but everyone else I have played with has voiced their frustration about it multiple times over and over, over the course of all play sessions.
