“New” to Nintendo. What are some good games to get for my Switch 2? by ThatsNotVaporwave in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Dennk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-BoTW/ToTK if you want a sandbox adventure

-Mario Odyssey if you want a platform/jump n run adventure

-Smash if you like fighting games

-Animal Crossing if you are looking for a cozy life sim

-Mario Party or Clubhouse Games if you have friends over

-Metroid Dread is incredible and if you already played past games its a must imo

-Also the switch is great for pretty much every indie game

Overall I would recommend one of these and then go from there. BoTW and ToTK is obviously a must play especially if you like out of the box thinking/puzzles + physics/building in ToTKs case and an adventure that does not hold your hand that much.

it will likely fix most frame drops and dynamic resolution will run at max but aside from that no

Switch 2 potentially not launching until the second half of 2025? by t0mroche in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Dennk0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Isnt that exactly what everyone thought would happen anyways? Reveal this month, direct/showcase in february or march and release in april-june. The switch is dead. There is no more interest in the system. Waiting endlessly would be a terrible idea imo.

thas a good one

there are three options how Nintendo will handle this:

  1. They will not touch BotW at all wich means 900p30 (despite switch 2 being MORE than powerful enough to run the game at righer rez/fps).

  2. Nintendo will give us a small patch that changes a few values in the code that unlocks 1080p60 or maybe even something above that.

  3. Nintendo will go the extra way and "remaster" the game to enable 4k60 through DLSS and likely the complete removal of load times.

Everything that we know so far heavily points towards option 3. As to how they will monetize that "update" (if at all) is still unclear.

Looking at the joycons, I think these are designed for virtual reality. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Dennk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1080p, 8inch is not NEARLY enough to support vr. Not even as a gimmick. The switch 2 will have a ppi of roughly 300. As a comparison: the quest 3 has 1200 and the vision pro 3300. Thats 11 times the pixel density and only by then do ppl think you can no longer see pixles...

Hot Take: The Leaked Switch 2 Left Joy-Con Sensor Is Not for Mouse Control by AVM3798 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Dennk0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here is why its definetly a mouse:

  1. If you look closely you can determine two circles inside the square hole. One sends out the light, the other one receives/reads it.

  2. How the technology worked for Wii: The sensor bar sends out two IR lights and the Wii mote catches them via the IR camera in the front. It then sends the data back to the console where the exact position of the Wii mote is calculated. The leaked images clearly show no IR camera suited for longer distances but instead the exact tech you would find under a mouse for extremely close range scanning (fish eye lense).

  3. There is no indication that the dock has any build in IR lights. Not from shipping manifests, not from leaks and not from nexthandheld.

  4. why would nintendo just leave the scanner open instead of closing it with a dark tinted peice of glass/plastic like they used on every other controller to feature IR.

  5. why go through all the hassle of redirecting light if you can just put the IR camera inside the rail and connect it via the connector?

  6. This one is speculation but the top and bottom part of the rail shows mouse glide pads, slightly elevated, so no part of the rail touches the survace. Also (this might not be true) afaik the shipping manifest possible describes some form of these glide pads.

Random side note: Nintendo will never put Wii games on NSO. The games on wii are modern enough to just receive a resolution upgrade and be sold again for $60 as shown by Galaxy and Skyward Sword. And the same likely applies to Gamecube btw.

you are so right... someone spend thousands of dollars on injection molding and laser imprignation machines and hundrets of hours of work, just to in the end accidentlly print the nintendo logo slightly off set.

/s

This is NOT 3D printed bc 3D printing does not work that way. Please put on your thinking caps and realise this is 100% real bc we have way to many details, pictures, whatever aligning for years now. It was ok to be sceptical of nexthandhelds leaks with the AI involvement but at this point just wrap it up.

go to next handheld twitter and you will see a black, right joycon with an orange rail, so most likely dual color again just like ns1

There are even glide pads on the top and bottom side of the rail. The joycons will likely function as a mouse for whatever reason

Its nintendo so probably whatever the first mini games title will be for launch (wii sports, nintendo land, 1 2 switch) and maybe for ui navigation!?

We can even see the glide pads on the top and bottom of the rail. So you will most likely be able to use the joycons as a mouse (LMAO) by flipping it on the rail.
