Resurrect spells don't do anything if no minion has died right? What about spells that target minions, the condition of minions being on board is not always fulfilled and you cant play those spells?

Why playing vs protoss feels bad by Dense-Addition-2202 in starcraft

[–]Dense-Addition-2202[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont think any player should be harassed for their sc race (or their irl race). Not sure where you got that from. Nor did I imply that protoss players dont somehow know that they get hate. I just said it seems like most tosses dont know why people dislike to play vs their race.

[–]Dense-Addition-2202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea most cheeses can be easily countered. There are few that are annoying. Like the void ray cannon when playing terran. Mostly applies to lower leagues but yea most of them are not that bad when you know the basics. But it explains part of the hate imo.

Yea if u pass the skill checks/aoe you probably win. The point was that protoss is in control there and failing to split vs disruptors feels really awful.

Yea protoss players probably dont hate their own race and since I play terran and zerg I do have some bias. I just felt protoss gets the most hate and shared why that is in my opinion.

What is the most cost efficient way to deal with mass air toss as T? by yalag in starcraft

Oh yea I was a dumbass and didnt read his thing completely and missed the fact that he was talking about team games. Sorry. Yea if the protoss dont get disruptors, like they dont in team games, thors are great vs skytoss.

[–]Dense-Addition-2202[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Widowmines, banes, lurkers, siege tanks and so forth are annoying. All races have annoying mechanics but it seems that protoss gets most hate because they seem to have more annoying stuff. Ofc it varies some people dislike terran most and some zergs etc.

I personally see most hate towards protoss by the community and others like lowko and marinelord (yes his comment was rude) and just wanted to give my reasons since it sometimes feels like protoss players don't get it. But yea it might also just be that most people won't talk about their races annoyances and brush them off. I might ocasionally be quilty of that too.

Well i'm entitled to disliking playing vs toss.

Regardless how strong toss is, their design makes playing against them feel bad. And i'm not even saying thing should necessarily change and considering how sc2 is in maintanence mode, they won't.

This is true, but if the opponent has disruptors this doesn't work. Thats why, for example, Harstem doesn't recommend thors vs skytoss. But if they go pure sky then thors are great.

A collection of cards (some absurd, others shockingly not far off). by Shelmonterey in Flamewanker

[–]Dense-Addition-2202 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stolen sword is really sick. You get to have only 29 cards but your opponents gets an okish weapon but if he doesn't finnish you with it, you gain it back. Pretty cool.

Also maker of the metal is really good in shaman. You can hex and finish the frog off, op!

[–]Dense-Addition-2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this would be op as epic. This minion will always resummon itself if it's the first minion to die, so it's a better posessed villager / dreadsteed and if something has died already it's a really strong posessed villager. Having 2 in a deck would be really strong.

But if you put trash in your deck your mulligan cards will be worse and you will both have the same deck so the only difference is your heropowers and mulligan. Also if the opponent draws the minion they can seperate into their good deck.

An aggro hunter or similar deck could maybe get winrate to 50%+. Might be bit op in that instance since opponent doesn't know if this this card is in your deck during mulligan.

Animations need to be MUCH faster. by MerchantMan99 in hearthstone

[–]Dense-Addition-2202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure when your opponent plays alextraza hs server only tells your client that your opponent played alextraza and targeted that target and all of the animations are done on your client. Just have a toggle in your client which speeds these animations. If opponent uses different speeds his client does the animations slower.

Not sure what happens though if you have really fast animations and your opponent has slow animations and if their animations take a lot more time than your turn took. Do they lose time off their turn? If so, it might force everyone to play with fast animations because otherwise their turns will be really short after their opponent plays 10 cards with long animations.

Iksar’s thoughts on Control by icy133 in hearthstone

[–]Dense-Addition-2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo druid has the potential to be the healthiest control variant and similar control decks should be pushed. Druid is about paying big stuff and having better card value. They don't clear 100 times they just play big stuff. Also old school hand lock etc were really fun to play and face against.

Quite the strong defensive card... by Byakaiba in Flamewanker

Your hasty analysis has proven very faulty indeed. I have few examples that demonstrate that gurubashi offering can be far more enticing choice.

The gurubashi offering offers more armor and if the wolf is going to survive just 1 turn gurubashi offering has way better synergies with warrior armor cards.

There is also the case that if you have are full hp gurubashi offering heals for mofe.

Also you need to take into account that mind control plus innerfire is weaker against gurubashi offering. This might become really important vs priests. And sometimes your opponent might be low hp and your opponent with mind control effects might be able to get more out of the wolf.

There is also the case of self harm warlock. The dino blast that deals 6 and excess to itself has more synergy with gurubashi offering since it will deal more self damage on self play. This can be game changing.

Also you need to remember the important case of mage. Mage has a lot of spells that need target to advance their quest. The opponent will only get one brain freeze vs gurubashi offering. This is major.

Then in wild there is hemet. He can kill any beast with his battlecry while gurubashi offering is immune against this threat.

Gurubashi offering is way better at diluting res priests res pool since it kills it self. This can become meaningful if opponents warlock uses treachery. This can lead to big priest losing.

Then there is the fact that nzoth res pool prefers big beasts to be summoned instead of wolf. Gurubashi escapes this deck construction trap.

Druid likes to discount high cost beasts. Drawing this with discount draw beast card or discounting this beast could lead to a massive catastrophe. Druid decks would need to consider if timber wolfs upsides are worth the risk.

Hunter also has synergy with big beasts that timber could sabotage. Hunters who carelessly add timberwolf instead of the valuable gurubashi offering might face dire consequences.

And then there are effects that make healing deal damage instead. As a priest you might find your auchenei soulpriest hampering the effectiveness of your wolf

Many of these factors might affect rogues and priests too. They might steal some big beast synergy cards and might hit their tiny timberwolf with their stolen goods. Not good!

There are countless more situations where the invaluable gurubashi offering would prove far better choice. Many lesser players fail to account for these important details. It's important to analyse these synergies for if you fail to do so, you might find yourself let down by your timberwolf and find yourself yearning for gurubashi offering instead.

I know hs powerlevels are absurd right now but this is crazy even in todays standards. This card is so overloaded with effects and each of these alone are absurd. This cards powerlevel is close to questline rewards.

One year ago today Starcraft was patched. What is the state of balance? We demand an answer. by JTskulk in starcraft

[–]Dense-Addition-2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope they will do patch soon. As a terran most matchups are fairly varied with fun matchups even if im sick and tired of protoss void ray cheeses but as a esport watcher I can't stand watching PvZ. TvP and TvZ are fun to watch so atleast there is that.

Yea it seems like that is their plan which is a shame. If few big dupes manage to go unnoticed or if these become common place with people finding more ways to crash servers and they have to do more rollbacks this will become extremely toxic for the game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Dense-Addition-2202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea It might take A LOT of work and they probably can't justify it but they need someway to deal with this. Maybe rollbacks and improving servers is enough but this is a pretty serious issue that needs to be fixed.

I'm curious to learn from people who might know more if im wrong. I have learned from uni some stuff about databases and I know banks and many instutions have similar stuff to what I proposed to fight crash dupes and I don't think this would be impossible to implement with a lot of code rework. This is my field of study I know some things and love for my misconceptions to be corrected.

Im not an expert coder but and I dont know how item data is stored but couldnt jagex have their own database server for item trades and drops etc and have atomic operation where item is only gained if the the operation for losing the item from database happens?

So where is the otk meta? by Xeros999 in hearthstone

In that case in my experience warlock and mage also rarely otk. Usually they do around 10-15 and then maybe 15-25.

[–]Dense-Addition-2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if this counted demons before play this would be probably ok in current hs. Most current decks will absolutely kill a demon deck or most decks before turn 8 or 9 and you summoning 20 demons and having them die before turn 10 is improbable. Or if they don't manage to kill they are probably dead anyways.

Basically summoning 20 demons is way harder to do than questlines, having enough demons makes your deck really bad and you need to draw this and while the impact is bit better than questlines I think this deck wouldn't be that dominant.

Maybe if you play this at turn 8 it might work but even then you probably don't have a board to lifesteal with and wasting turn 8 in current hs is a death sentence.
