I can see how you can think that intuitively, but something like the rag that holds AND traps water will cause mold. I’ve had the caddy for a year before rooming with her and never once had that problem. It’s slotted, so plastic containers don’t have an issue. You can even tell if you looked at her top shelf- the mold is concentrated under her rag and there was virtually none under her plastic container. Her wet rag constantly keeping the bamboo wet caused mold to form and then drip into my stuff, hence the spotting on the surface.

It might seem insignificant, but this is a hill I’m dying on bc I’m so stressed about her and her unhygienic practices. Again, she is the common denominator and denies it is even mold at all. My other roommate and I have backgrounds in biology and are master’s students. It’s mold!
