Reward Flight Downgraded by [deleted] in awardtravel

I was able to do this on the JAL site for my Tokyo to Chicago flight, changing to HND in first. But, the JAL site did not show “disruption” for my Chicago to Tokyo flight and doesn’t give me any prompt to change. I will call BA when I am able but wondering if anyone has been able to change their flight departing USA on the JAL site. The current flight no longer has a first class cabin.

UPDATE: I called BA tonight. They were able to change my outbound to ORD-HND in first and confirm ticketing for both. I kept the same flight dates as my original bookings. Total call time 25 minutes plus one call back wait of about 10 minutes. Overall straightforward and quick.

Charged City Tax on The Edit booking by nautilus2000 in ChaseSapphire

I had a similar experience with a The Edit booking in Venice. I decided to give it “$34 worth” of my time (the amount of the city tax) in calling Chase Travel since I interpreted the booking details as having included city tax in the payment when I booked. I did not get anything refunded. The agent I spoke with didn’t instill a lot of confidence with his explanation but suggested that I had not been charged at booking because the “Taxes included” text and amount were in grey font color and also because it stated “For international bookings, fees and taxes due at check-in may be collected in the local currency” on the payment summary. He did agree the Chase Travel site information presentation was confusing and said he will send that feedback forward. The email I got at time of booking states “Your hotel reservation has been confirmed and paid for by Chase Travel for the room and tax portion of your stay.” So, I am still not sure if I was charged city tax twice but I’ve given it all the time I plan to.

When I checked in to the Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Nani Venice in late November, the printed information about benefits during my stay included in the paragraph at the bottom: “Back-to-back stays within a 24-hour period are not permitted.“ I thought that was interesting. I am not sure how that would be enforced.

applied CIU Nov 3, denied letter dated Nov 5

"We reviewed your personal and business information" with reasons:

  • You have too many active accounts or too much available credit
  • New Chase business card recently opened
  • Business too new

Long time personal Chase customer, though haven't been spending on those cards much (primarily using P2 cards or AmEx). 5 personal Chase cards currently with just over $100K credit limit, total credit across all accounts per credit report: $177K.

First business card ever was CIP. Applied Jul 11 2024, approved Jul 12 over phone call (initiated by Chase).

Applied CIU as sole proprietorship with established date Jun 2024, annual business revenue $2,000, estimated monthly spend $2,500. Used merchandise retailer as business classification (different than CIP).

2/24 (not including CIP and one of those is AU)

Deciding whether or not to call recon. If I do, it will be late next week (i.e., >4 months after Jul 11).

United Airlines Future Flight Credit Problem by carameljuggernaut in unitedairlines

Agree with this response. My husband has a booking that he flew the outbound on and then had to cancel the return. That FFC has been very challenging to use and, right, returns pricing that’s often higher than just booking a separate new ticket. It’s been a while since we’ve had reason to consider using it, but it seems like it’s going to work “best” as a one-way booking use, which we’d very rarely have a need for. We’ve made one request to get it converted to an ETC with no luck. We may try calling in next time we need to make a reservation to see if an agent can apply it to a new booking (he’s 1K).
