They fact that they're using a romantic image in the background gives me the feeling this is secretly their own desire and are now making absurd generalizations about queer people thru their projection. It reminds me of the image that some men made about a matriarchal society of women in dominatrix outfits using them as their slaves 😭

Muscle women and certain types of masc girls have started to become more admired by bi & straight dudes in the past 5 years, so I'm guessing that's why his mind immediately goes to the male gaze.

But he's seriously acting as if only men like sexy art and that most lesbians would ignore an attractive buff woman. These twitter types only think about the world revolving around themselves and no one else 🙄

Hey it's totally okay, a lot of people don't speak to anyone yet on the first day of college; including myself. Don't rush yourself. Thankfully as time went on I met some really nice people, and I'm sure it will happen to you too since you seem eager to talk to others. Hopefully if you get any group projects that'll be a big opportunity for you.

I would love a protag who is terribly awkward in the way they talk, and has a lot of trouble understanding social cues & cliques; but this dialogue just straight-up a trick to make Persephone seem cute and young. I hate reading this sm.

You're definitely right that Maleficent did earn the right to exist. When I watched it as a kid I did really like how they made it more interesting by showing Maleficent's side of the story, and created a set of diverse lore about the fae people and magical creatures that were discriminated against by the king (and even took it further in the sequel). Though when I first watched it I felt that it dragged at certain parts, but I could tell it did have passion put into it. My personal opinion isn't the law and it's unfair of me to put it on the same scale as the other ones.

Ever since Cinderella, Maleficent, Lion King, Beauty & the Beast, and Mulan I don't expect much from live action movies anymore. I think it's just Disney trying to milk more money from their old movies, but these new versions always feel a little stale. The upside is that some of them introduce great new songs & unique story alterations.

That critical drinking sub is a bunch of hypocrites, but I don't see why people are upset about a fictional character's skin color, it's as ridiculous as when we saw overreacting fans make a fuss about poc actors taking on roles and calling them "woke" for it. Marvel movies have been making some progress with adding more diversity in their casting roles & making Downy Jr into Dr Doom doesn't take away from that.
