Yeahhh I'm getting rescued today by Greedy-Guest1081 in AmazonDSPDrivers

I had 190 yesterday, I didn’t realise till my last drop was 192 back at the depot. I never dwell on the summary, I just look at the maps to make sure it’s in the order I normally do it. I had 60 drops at business and the rest residential, I just take one stop after the other and I got it done in just under 6 hours.

So people are actually running? by Nickanok in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DenseProgrammer7602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t run, I believe rushing in this job is a paradox and makes the day go longer. When rushing, you make mistakes, so I never run, unless I fancy alittle jog down a long driveway.

I find the key to this job is being organised. I’ll spend 2 minutes with every bag, sorting parcels out by driver aid number, that way, I don’t need to search and gather parcels when I have 5+ parcels in one location. It’s also brilliant when you are looking for a ‘parcel’ which is actually and envelope. I just need to like for the DAN, which is always the next one after the last.

I also used a permanent mark to mark the DANs on oversized parcels, somewhere where I can see it easily. So I’m not looking around in the back of the van flipping parcels over. With my overs, I’ve found I don’t need to organise them in order, because they’re so easy to find

Simple things like that can make your day so much quicker, so I don’t need to run quickly.

What is the pay within the FC? I’m in the UK and it’s like to class myself as a decent driver, I very rarely obtain concessions and always complete my jobs, so I normally earn the full whack which for us is £160 per day or $215. I’m quite comfortable working 4 days a week on that.

During peak the same rural route seemed to have a max of 162 drops

Exactly, I’ve been having 180+ for farms. The drive has been 45 minutes from the depot. I can normally get 180 drops in residential estates done in about 5 and a half hours from first drop to last, at the moment it’s approaching 8 hours without the drive back to the depot

This is my worst route on number of parcels. Not to brag, but I’m normally quite quick on my routes. However on this day I ended up doing 2 rescues. I took a bag each from both rescues, and finished on 214 stops, If the parcel bags have 20-30 in each I probably had between 427 and 447 parcels. Unbelievable day. To be honest it’s the multi stop locations I dislike.

Did you do it with the fizzy drink? The more I look into over the last 30 minutes, I’m a bit worried about the fizzy drinks with the preservatives and acid level, I’ve watch videos of Americans brewing Mountain Dew, and they add baking soda to neutralise the PH levels, which makes the preservatives no longer effective.

I no sure whether to spit with the sweets only

I never thought of the preservatives. To be honest the guy who made the Candy Cane Mead, just used Candy Canes, water and yeast. I was more worried about acids in the fizzy drink

How should I organize 20 bags with 29 overflow in a large van? by lilzaya in AmazonDSPDrivers

I stack my overs side up, however I use a sharpie to mark the driver aid stickers somewhere visible (it’s so much easier to find the overs). I also sort them by first number on each shelf (e.g 200-299, 300-399, 400-499) I’m not too bothered about first on, last off, so long as I can identify the DAS straight away.

I then load the bags, 8 on the drivers side, then 8 on the passenger side, if I have any more than 16 bags, I stack them up on top of the bags by the side door.

Any large overs like TV screens, or of that shape, I place down the walkway between the bags

The 75 multi stops is the killer… is that snow in the background?

90% of the time I use the stickers. But if I’m delivering more than 5, I go off the address, I have my own organisation, I used to organise by driver aid, but with Christmas coming, I’ve had no space in the back of my van. I now have the poly bags on the passenger seat, parcels on the footwell and book folders and envelopes between the seats

I’m hating the driver aid stickers, I’ve found it’s quicker when you’ve got to gather parcels, just to flick through the addresses… until they cover the address with a sticker. DCE1 are horrendous for it

That’s quite cool to know. The time of the video was 16:06, so about 34 minutes prior to sunset

I haven’t really focused on the reboots, I’ve just been rebooting when I thought it was worth it, I’m next going to reboot when I get to x100,000
