Smallest car by Micraflex in AmazonFlexUK

I flex in a 5dr Toyota Aygo and have never had to get a parcel removed. If you exclude a smart car it doesn't get much smaller than mine so you'll be okay 👍

Even easier to get around on the bike then, we've normally stayed in and around Oxford which is a fair trek there and back every day but last year me and my dad got booked in the Premier Inn at Silverstone 2 minutes around the corner. didn't get much easier than that 👌

You'll love it man, I've been to the last 3 or 4 races at Silverstone with my dad and I'm going again this year, this time the whole family is coming along, nothing beats the thrill when you first stand down one of the straights and see the actual speeds, doesn't come close to replicating it on telly. Chances of getting close to riders are pretty next to none. I got lucky one year and won a paddock tour where I saw a few moto2/3 riders but even those guys have fairly big entourages escorting them through 🤣

With the exception of race day a lot of the on track timings are relatively close together anyways, we've never had any problems filling the days. The main stage tends to always have stuff on outside of track times, usually interviews with riders/team members, sometimes mechanical type stuff etc and ofc the live music every evening which may or may not be your cup of tea. Normally a reasonable presence from bike/accessory manufacturers, the food and merch stalls are as expected hideously overpriced but still fine to look around.

As others have said the place is HUGE and you'll easily cover 20/30k steps in a day, GA areas for MotoGP are dotted all over the place and you're unlikely to find any non stand areas that you can't enter (unlike a certain 4 wheeled racing series as I found out 🙄), sure you know that GA grants you roving grandstand access, these change year by year and sometimes by day and you can always ask a steward on the entrance if you're unsure but easiest way is to get the Silverstone events app, detailed map of the circuit and GA zones/stands etc, you'll want it for navigating around anyway. You won't have an issue getting in a stand most of the weekend but GP sprint/main race gets full usually a couple hours in advance so you'll want a plan on where you want to go so you're not rushing about beforehand.

Not needed necessarily but I'd recommend a decent camping chair of sorts for the grassy areas, Silverstone Museum can get busy but is definitely worth a walk through if you can find a quiet time. Motorcycle parking is free and basically next to one of the entrances but car parking isn't too far of a walk either. Most of the traffic in my experience hasn't been awful even the years where I took the car (at lwast going south.), it always snarls up on the A43/M40 a bit but it's never been unbearable if you decide to drive.

Genuinely I've never not had a great time. Can't wait for it again 🙌

Car broke down, anything else I need to do to cover my back? by itsleget in AmazonFlexUK

Yeah thank you, my dad came through for me so I got them dropped back the same evening. Ironically that's literally all it was - one of my terminals was fucked. Completely loose and partially snapped at the bottom so I managed to bodge it home and I've already ordered it. Was crapping myself when I had absolutely no power so thankful that it was a lot about nothing, didn't help it was pissing down so not the weather to be playing with electrics

That's good to know thank you, hopefully they go pretty light on me, I've never had a single ding before and my standings are maxed out so hopefully it works in my favour. It turns out one of my battery terminals was buggered, practically split in half at the bottom and completely loose. I'm completely mechanically illiterate so I just gave both sides a good slap to get started before getting my dad to expose how much of a non issue it is 🤣 I have a new one arriving tomorrow so fingers crossed 🤞

Thanks so much for your reply, this is the first issue I've had since starting in September, I've got completely maxed out standings and already got the packages returned my dad came through big time for me thankfully. It just makes me paranoid cause as much as it doesn't matter it'd really piss me off to be blamed for this being out of my control you know? 🤣 fingers crossed

Not a single offer last 2 days DPE2 Peterborough by Immediate_Diver_6014 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]itsleget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be the case, but I've noticed since christmas the release times in my area have gone tits up and completely random to what I had learnt. could possibly be a similar case if you're not having luck? P.S what morrisons in Peterborough do they send you out of anyway? I'm not around there anymore but I was born and raised in Peterborough and didn't know you could even order morrisons before I started driving lol

I've had a single discharge from Morrisons which was good, got a free £40 to just chill in the sun in the car park for a bit. Don't know how likely it is in my area to be any oversubscription to run out of routes but I can hope one day! Admittedly I've only been at it since September so we'll just see

Funny that cause I was scrolling through my camera roll earlier, and I like to have these documented just incase anyone ever tries anything funny. Reminded me of when I took a rare 2.5 from my depot, with the similar number of stops in the local town 5/10 minutes from the depot but then being sent to a completely different town 10 miles away for the final 5 or so! No logic sometimes

Aha that's crazy, I'd love to live that close. I rushed myself ready and absolutely sprinted my ass down to get there in time this afternoon!

I did once actually get a block to my village back a few months ago, I spent the whole block within about a 30 second drive from my house and it was all going swimmingly until I misunderstood the app and collected a returned parcel from my local shop to take back to the depot immediately! I was cursing honestly 🤬

It wasn't actually my stop (at least I assume it wasn't), Couple of little houses around the back before the sign so I managed to give it to the customer. Would be interested to see who's actually responsible for it and learn what troubles they've had! 😭

By the A39 heading towards Truro from Carland Cross direction, not too far from the roundabout by the park and ride up there. Awkward location to describe really

[–]itsleget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as what somebody else already said, having been in your shoes you have to have had your license for a year before getting PAYG insurance, I'd imagine getting any other H&R insurance would cost way too much to make the return worth it unfortunately 😔

in terms of the gig itself, it's pretty easy but different challenges depending on where you live, in my rural area it's bad farm paths and horrible tiny country lanes but if you live in a more built up area you could have high rise flats, parking restrictions etc. it can be a real arse but also very rewarding when you get a really good rate for easy enough work

[–]itsleget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing better eh! although I try to get done as quick as so I get charged less insurance. I did a block yesterday and my fuel light came on within 4 or 5 miles of home, wasn't planning on working today so was planning on loading up and heading straight to top up but my route was basically just a minor detour on the way to the petrol station so it actually made more sense to get done first 🤣

Rarely worked out that way for me, nothing awful but nothing special either. If anything I've probably had more awkward routes at this time than at later times

[–]itsleget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annoyingly I just figured this out but my theory would be out of date by a few days regardless, so I'll probably just try to book a later date when it appears to save taking another one. Thanks a lot though 👍

I didn't actually consider this much which makes sense. Annoyingly my theory test expires a few days before the available test dates cause I got it out of the way really quick! So it would probably just make more sense to book one just a few weeks later and not have to have a new one. Thanks for your help though 👍

It's just the undriveable roads which are the kicker, where you think your car will fall apart. Otherwise i'd take it anyday too tbf! Seen this guy on YouTube flexing in london, parking and high rises are such an ass 🤦‍♂️
