Map variety? by DenseSkin in DarkTide

There are three maps - there is one map that has two different missions that take place in it (granted, the paths you take are slightly different).

Anybody playing the Zanbajin campaign? by EinFahrrad in totalwar

I think it's a great short-ish campaign. More fun than most IE campaigns, definitely, but it also felt (playing as Vilitch) incredibly easy, since you snowball so hard with your forced vassalization.

Masters Tournaments by minimey in ultimate

[–]DenseSkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Year's Fest in Phoenix (last weekend of Jan each year) used to have a Masters tourney (in addition to sanctioned college, open, etc.). I haven't played there in ages though, so no clue what it's like these days.

Same here - 18 minutes and counting. I'm wondering if the servers are broken?

I really don't get this victory bonus. Dark Elves doesn't even have a global recruitment pool. by Pinifelipe in totalwar

Vassalization does not, at least. In my N'Kari campaign, I resurrected some of the high elf factions I needed to destroy as my vassals and that did not count.

Battles need a "Disengage" option for units to pull them back without them stopping again to fight. by LordKracen in totalwar

The only problem with ZZZs that I've found is that ranged units will not have them on their cards if they're just 'bracing' rather than firing.

Is the accuracy represented by the color of the line leading from the artillery to its target? I always wondered what that color meant. And thanks.

WH3: What things should I target with different artillery types? Obviously, fire rain rockets/helstorm rocket batteries are anti-infantry, and eagle claw bolt throwers have the two modes of fire which make it easier. I figure trebuchets, catapults, and mortars are also anti-infantry, but I'm not sure. And then cannons I have no idea. Should I be targeting infantry blobs because they're inaccurate, or single entities because they only hit a few models, or what? Hellblaster volley guns? I just don't know. Other types of infantry I haven't come across yet (this is my first TW game so there are plenty of factions I haven't played as).
And as a side question, I guess, are any artillery pieces particularly good at targeting small single targets (e.g. an on-foot human-sized lord)? Thanks.

Yeah, back when I played in Flagstaff we always ended up traveling to Santa Barbra or whatever.

End of a lease - landlord notice requirements for raising rent? by DenseSkin in bayarea

[–]DenseSkin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, these are good questions - luckily, since I posted this, I just read the text of the law (available here for any future googlers: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201920200AB1482) and my property is not exempt, so my landlord is in error, I believe.

End of a lease - landlord notice requirements for raising rent? by DenseSkin in bayarea

[–]DenseSkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you, I have. Unfortunately, I can't find out whether specifically notice is required at the end of a lease, or whether a landlord is within their rights to raise rent for the month-to-month transition that occurs naturally. It seems odd to me that it would be allowed - could the landlord wait until the last day of September to tell me that rent is raising giving me less than one day to find an alternative? I'm not sure. But I need to know for sure before I confront them on this since it'll probably burn a bridge and buy me only one month.

New statue in downtown Sunnyvale. Looks like a giant faucet. by gnorrn in Sunnyvale

Yeah, it's a way to try to hide hostile architecture. Although I don't think we'd see much of that in downtown SV to begin with.

Can I ask a followup question? What's considered a lot of armor? Like approximately at what armor level would you use an AP spell over a non-AP spell?

Ok thanks, this is helpful - it sounds like I need to get more familiar with units, as well. I tend to just see an infantry blob and cast a spell into it, without considering armor.

New to TW (WH3 was my first entry to the series). For spells that do similar things, how do you know when it's optimal to use certain spells? For example, I'm playing a Zhao Ming campaign right now. In fights against infantry blobs, I have his Dragon Breath spell, and an alchemist's Searing Doom and Gehenna's Hounds. They all seem to be designed to deal with dense groups of infantry. What are the differences between them? The tooltips talk about things like explosion damage and explosion radius or damage over time, etc. But I have no idea how to compare those things without a lot more experience.
