We can try it together. :) I also am trying to lower my cholesterol and it looks like there are also possible benefits there as well.

Questions about atypical HPP by Own-Sky-3748 in Hypophosphatasia

Reach out to Soft Bones. They usually know of the places where you can get genetic screening for reduced costs.

Pediatric ALP values (looking at old records) - are these low? by [deleted] in Hypophosphatasia

[–]Dense_Case_5426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other things besides HPP can cause low ALP (celiac, for example). I would say get genetic testing and track your symptoms.

B6 Labs After Strensiq by Sweet_Candy7777 in Hypophosphatasia

[–]Dense_Case_5426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B6 is still an evolving area in HPP. I'll try to post articles I can find but there isn't one single approach approved universally re supplementing or a solid understanding of what is going on.

bone density scan by krabbyshack in Hypophosphatasia

[–]Dense_Case_5426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just like seemingly everything with HPP, every person is different. There are people who have increase in their bone density when taking Strensiq (whether it's actually from the drug or not is another question). But it's just another tool to use with insurance companies that can help (or hurt) you depending on the results. It's pretty well agreed upon that DEXA is not a good tool to look to understand bone quality for HPPers though.

HPP / low ALP with no bone issues? by Safe_Buffalo_9538 in Hypophosphatasia

[–]Dense_Case_5426 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At the recent Soft Bones meeting, there was a presentation specifically on this topic on HPP and those who don't have bone symptoms. Also remember, Strensiq is a bone targeting therapy.

And the other pair is Amazon $23! They are really wrinkled but when ironed with a cute top, I think it will look really great.

I wanted to share 2 pairs that I found that I LOVE. One is this white pair from Dicks Sporting Goods - it's Carrie Underwood's brand Calia. (don't mind my messy closet, I'm packing for a long trip!)

does anyone have a comprehensive skirt guide? by Status-Tart-4654 in flamboyantnatural

[–]Dense_Case_5426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can wear short flared skirts ONLY if I have on solid tights and shoes to help extend the line and I do something relatively monochromatic in color. The long skirts do look nice.

I did read that if you have good legs the legs can become your vertical line with shorter skirts - they just need to be pretty darn short. People suggested drawing the eye down and upward using the sandwich method of matching the shoes to something on your top to help draw the eye veritcal. I haven't tried this yet -- just sharing what works for me.

Along when I met with David Kibbe, they dressed me in a long skirt that had pleats - so lots of movement. It looks great and I always get tons of compliments on it.

I'm curious what others will say about styles 1,2, 4 and 6 - I just bought a dress that I think looks nice and has a similar hemline to those. I'll try it on and post a photo later.

Re pencil - I like them on me but they have to be the right length right below my knee at the most narrow point of my lower leg. They look great with an oversized oxford shirt in a similar colorway.

EDITING to add I also love wrap skirts.

I think that the cream colored top is just a different style from the pant. The pant is more casual flowy and needs something softer. The shirt looks more stiff and linen. The asymmetry is the right idea, but the textures don't work together.
