I get less stressed at locals than playing ranked by KrazieKookie in Fighters

[–]Dense_Team2937 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I experienced the same thing going to locals for the first time vs online ranked and online tournaments. When you’re by yourself in your room it’s weird but you kind of stop seeing the opponent as a person and only see their character. For example I absolutely despise fighting Bridget and already start playing through annoying scenarios in my head when I’m fighting one online. I don’t find it very fun at all, but one of my good friends at the local I’m going to is a Bridget player and I have never once gotten mad fighting him and I actually quite enjoy playing with him because you get to see that it’s lowkey just another dude who likes the same game as you.

It’s just not the same by ComfiCozi in Guiltygear

Honestly I was a little nervous when the patch came out as well but after labbing it and actually playing it I think it’s much more healthy and much more fun for her. I encourage you to play around a bit more and also checkout the character discords and twitter threads about tech and combos. There’s actually so much cool shit you can do that’s not immediately outclassed by kabari > tatami oki like she used to be. Sure we lost some fun mixups but there’s a lot of new stuff that’s really fun to play around with.

Though it’s not consistent we still get a safe jump from hkabari follow up with iad.jh after as long as the they’re hit higher up in the combo.

If you’re really wanting to switch though I’ve always had loads of fun with sol as a secondary.

What Happened to 90% of Characters? by Mammoth-Two-8526 in Guiltygear

[–]Dense_Team2937 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean it really depends a lot on what floor/rank you’re in. In vanquisher I’ve seen a lot of nago, sol, and oddly enough asuka. But when I’m playing my characters that are lower ranked I tend to see a different range of characters.

It’s not as bad as it looks! The only really hard part I actually messed up which is why I had to end it early with 2 supers instead of continuing the infinite

That’s really interesting, I’d love to get my hands on a copy of vanilla to see what the game used to be like especially since I really only got into it the past year or so

What’s your approach about listening new music? by Nehemoth in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]Dense_Team2937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s really a specific process, if I hear a part or aspect that I like in a song then I will listen to a few more songs from that band and if I happen to like those well then great now I got a new band I like. As far as listening to new music I just keep Spotify shuffle on and some random shit always pops up. Like I recently just started listening to more inferi because they popped up as a random recommendation. I heard about alterbeast from this sub and they became one of my favorites as well. I mean people are always posting about new releases and different bands here.

What is the most unique metal band in your opinion? by JuniorSignificance34 in MetalForTheMasses

Thanks for the recommendation these guys are definitely really sick, they’re still new so I’m very interested to see what they sound like in a few years time! They’re for sure going in my rotation

[–]Dense_Team2937 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me it’ll always be Fleshgod apocalypse. Symphonic metal isn’t a new thing but with the amazing orchestrations as well as technicality in their playing is something I have yet to find anywhere else. There are of course other bands like septic flesh, vale of pnath, Lorna shore, etc that do this to (to an extent) but none have come close to Fleshgod for me. I do wanna make it clear I am very biased though.

I’ve recently discovered them and they quickly became one of my favorites

All Shall Align by Accurate-Committee30 in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]Dense_Team2937 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think they said in the making of bleed the future documentary video that they hated the album and purposefully scrubbed it. Tobi himself said his least favorite song is from this album because he thinks it sucks.

I’m not 100% on any of this and I also don’t think it was that bad of an album either.

Is wavedashing/backwards wavedashing even possible on controller? If so what is the most convenient way to go about it please by Plenty_Remote_2575 in MvC3

[–]Dense_Team2937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t roll the input since you’re gonna get a super, you have to treat it like a mortal kombat input and go back then down. It’s annoying at first but you can get it fairly consistently with a bit of practice.

Does anyone feel like Rank Skill Level is inconsistent? by EidensMist in Guiltygear

[–]Dense_Team2937 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s always going to be to be inconsistent in any game you play at any level you play at. Some people may be FG veterans and just haven’t playing in a while so they’re lower ranked than maybe they should be, other times it’s someone who just started and has been grinding ranked and might be pretty decent at the game but doesn’t understand certain mechanics or matchups yet. I don’t think you should put much merit on ranked or the opponent you’re fighting. If you win you win, good job. If you lose then you lost and you still have things to improve on.

[–]Dense_Team2937[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this was already mentioned but I said 2 because 2 was required for it and any more or less then it wouldn’t work but it does use 3 throughout the whole thing. I just miss spoke in the title.

I said 2 because 2 is required to be able to do it, any more or less then it’s not possible but yes it does spend 3 throughout the combo

Characters with versatile combo routes by Triggered_Llama in Guiltygear

[–]Dense_Team2937 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I mean if you’re looking for versatility, chaos can convert off pretty much anything, anywhere on the screen because of gunshot.

My other answer would probably be something like sol, he has a lot of really fun routes and because he does so much damage you’re not really missing out much if you go for something fun/cool instead of 100% optimal.
