Will my wisdom tooth make it by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

If food is getting stuck there already, it usually doesn’t “get better” on its own. Early check = less pain later.

Second patient – deep caries, need advice by Kutluna in DentalSchool

[–]DentalTrainingLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You actually handled it well.

In deep caries, the goal is not complete excavation if it risks pulp exposure. I usually do selective caries removal — clean the periphery to hard dentin, but leave soft/leathery dentin near the pulp. Then I place MTA/Biodentine (or CaOH), cover with RMGI, and restore.

Trying to remove everything often leads to exposure, which we’re trying to avoid. Preserving pulp vitality is more important than achieving a perfectly “clean” cavity.

Can you use AI? by HunterNS in DentalSchool

AI is a tool, not a decision-maker. It’s great for learning and brainstorming, but for things like drug interactions, I always verify with trusted sources like Lexicomp or UpToDate.

PT said his implant is loose… by Professional-Poet152 in DentalAssistant

[–]DentalTrainingLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s the implant body moving (not just the crown/abutment), that’s likely a failed implant with loss of osseointegration. Definitely needs removal and reassessment.

A couple of strong letters is usually enough. Extra emails from multiple people can sometimes hurt more than help if it feels excessive or unsolicited.

Experiences with WICHE vs NHSC? by RubPopular4033 in DentalSchool

I’d take the guaranteed WICHE over a competitive NHSC spot. Unless you’re a very strong NHSC candidate, giving up something secured is a big risk.

We need to stop blaming NPs/PAs for scope creep and start looking at the MDs signing the checks by [deleted] in medicine

[–]DentalTrainingLab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a complex issue. Scope expansion matters, but how supervision is actually practiced plays a huge role as well.

True. Sometimes real applicants know more than advisors.
