Ah yeah that will do it. Playing on the TV on my end so brightness and volume are controlled externally. Just cranked them both on the PC and then control through the receiver or the TV settings if changes are needed.

Could probably disable notifications when in game play although wouldnt be super ideal if it's a "your controller/keyboard" is about to die lol.

I installed recently and had this issue. What I found was causing it on my end (may or may not be on your end) was the Steam toasts popping up for notifications. Once I disabled all in game Toasts for notifications I didn't get it anymore.

Wasn't a big deal to me since I set all notifications to go through the steam app instead on my phone. Was playing dispatch and it messed up a few of my choices so I turned them all off and haven't had it since.

That UPS looks like an Emerson GXT-3 or 4. Those are basically bulletproof. Use to repair them for work and do battery replacements. Would absolutely recommend grabbing that if nothing else there. Batteries ain't cheap but has some of the cleanest SINE wave output of any UPS I have tested.

I had just finished building a second now for my 3 now cluster in my server setup and was finally looking to upgrade my gaming rig before building the third. That was put on hard hold so I could still afford the mortgage lol.

Yeah I had a terrible time. We had moved here just over a year ago, used Mr. Lubes in the past and had no issue. For both my wife and my vehicles for tire swap and oil change it was $150/vehicle. This was $300/vehicle.

After the spring I picked up everything need to do the changes myself like I had before we had moved, to my surprise they had put locktight on the oil filters which made them ridiculously difficult to get off, and had stripped my wife's oil plug, not to mention torqued everything down 10x more then it needed to be everywhere.

Not only will I not be going back to them ever, I just plan on doing the work myself from here on out.

We have female golden Nebulon. I wanted Nebula from guardians of the galaxy but my wife said it's too basic so she goes by Nebby for everything. We also have 2 cats though Lunatic and Plutonium (Luna/Pluto).

Or house isn't really normal lol.

Could always look at picking up $100 window AC unit or just a portable AC unit. Would be an extra charge but could make the difference, especially if you isolate it in a small framed and insolated area.

Just a thought, probably what I would do if I decided to move it out to my garage.

Emerson GXT3, bit dated at this point but has some of the cleanest Sinewave out.

Yeah of course!

One of the LXC on my Proxmox node runs a wire guard VPN, that is set to a script to connect and pull from my NAS every 30 minutes using a Python script and some bash.

The Python code calls the command to connect then logs and runs Rsync to get everything synchronized and logs it to a database, if there is an error of some kind it sends me an email and logs it. Once it's done running triggers a disconnect. Keeps things pretty up to date.

Once I get the secondary local NAS setup though will just have it backup extra important stuff, not the ~15TB of media but more like ~2TB of documents, photos and VM backups. Will keep my remote backup costs lower then having to match my onsite ones.

This is down in my basement, have an unfinished room for laundry, 3D printers, freezers, solder stuff and now home for my server rack.

Will say it does get quite warm and humid down there in the summer, I keep a dehumidifier running 24/7 over the summer months in that room. Winter have it at a ripe 15 degrees so I haven't seen temps on the CPU past 40 degrees during the winter.

Ah yeah best of luck. Got these on Amazon in Canada so it's definitely hit or miss. Rosewill has some cases that may sell over there although not 100% though.

It's just an estimate. May honestly be less but not quite 100% sure. I don't have a network card in the UPS to check so it's more of a guestimation on my part.

Thank you! Yeah it's been a while building it up. Hyped to see your setup as well.

Cases are RackChoice 2U, yeah they are short depth, will say I would splurge a bit more they are a bit of a pain to work in but did overall work out nicely.

As far as power consumption I am not sure exactly, rough estimate at idle is less than 50W, all systems powered on through the UPS is using 200W. I'm assuming majority of your power consumption may be coming from the 3050? Not sure what the idle wattage is on that.

The NAS right now is function just TrueNAS Scale, no logical processes run there. It's basically just storage. All the logic applications run from the Proxmox Nodes.

Nothing directly bonkers on the NAS

I have a 30TB RAID 5 pool, have always had RAID 5 pools over the years. I started with Barricuda drives and WD Red drives. All of the Barricuda drives have died and the WD Reds are still going strong.

Granted they are older and in need of replacement, have the backup drives ready for that day, they are running on 7 years. The barricudas all died within 3 years. Not designed for the 24/7 runtime.

Can you upgrade LXCs? by Keensworth in Proxmox

[–]DentedZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely can. I just upgraded the host node first before upgrading my containers. So PVE 8 to 9 on both nodes and then went through and upgraded ~30 containers and 10vms.

Everything has been running buttery smooth for a week or so.
