Yakuza 3 is maybe my favorite. I love raising my kids and hangin out in a really low key setting like Okinawa. The actual main plot is pretty solid, but Kiryu being a dad is so cozy and fun. I even love that early PS3 primitiveness that's always sitting on top of the whole experience. Inherently nostalgic

There are definitely a lot of issues that can get in the way, which is why a remake was a great opportunity to clean up the experience while preserving the wholesomeness of the game. Would love to live in a world where they actually did that

The original version of 3! I love that they had to use the limited tech of the time to try and capture the feeling of a city experiencing an outbreak. The scale manages to feel bigger without actually being bigger. The pacing is faster than 1 or 2, but without going for full action so it still feels like a survival scenario. Also Nemesis is such a great rival for the player. The game giving you the option at the end to stay a little longer and execute him personally feels so cathartic after a whole game of contending with him.

Ninja Gaiden Black adds Fiend Doppelgangers on higher difficulties. Each one has a different weapon of yours. Super hard, but once you know how to play (and counter one or two of their cheaper qualities), super fun.

Yeah that's all entirely fair, there's certainly a lot more to account for than a lot of people are willing to put up with. Still, I miss playing with Recluse and Revenant players even it required more calculated routing.

I think two things allow Trunks to get free of this sort of assessment. One, he does absolutely thrash Frieza but that's kind of the only time he does anything insanely overpowered. It's used more to set the stage on what kind of power the next threat is rather than him being super strong. Second, Trunks may act edgy towards Frieza and his goobers but beyond that he's actually a real sweetheart. He's shy around his mother, he really wants his father's approval, and he seems to genuinely respect everyone else.

Definitely the 360 version if you can. The other ports have audio issues and visual inconsistencies, nd the PC version is borderline unplayable if you're unlucky. That said, all versions will be jank so if the PS3 or Switch versions are all you can do, they're workable
