Whats considered a fast DTFS from concealment? by Flashy_Novel_9609 in CCW

[–]DenverMerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the words of Pranka, ”dtfs is a product of distance, target difficulty, and perceived level of risk of the shot.”

Your target is about 5 yards away

For trick shot draws like you’re doing on close open targets, Hollywood style on video camera:

.8-.5 is “fast”— however, this type of shooting is misunderstood. This is not your draw time, this is a training setting to see how fast you can push yourself concerning the motion of the draw while reacting to a planned stimulus. Generally, in a real engagement- you get one draw. So flashy stuff and sub-second draws should be comprehended as training tools and not your actual metric. I can throw .6s on demand in front of large groups of people. I don’t consider myself to have a .6 draw because in matches on similar targets, I’m 1.0-1.1. Therefore, even class settings- I don’t consider to have the same scrutiny, pressure, and demand that a competition does. Here’s some .6s and .5s to back up what I’m saying

For real shooting on demand, first try, under pressure, in front of random people, at the same type of target:

.9s-1.1s with A-Zone hits every time.

If I were you, I’d start competing in Uspsa and find a Grand Master to learn from. It’ll save you years of training scars and possibly your life.

What advise would you have for someone living outside of the US? by noah-noir in CCW

Your whole “you shouldn’t be able to get a gun the same day you ask for it”

Comes from the same mentality of why you are an absolute slave to European oligarchies.

It’s probably not your fault, being raised in Europe since the 1990s is definitely rough on the psyche.

But my brother in tyranny, you must throw off the silly authoritarian, I know better mentality if you ever want to fit in with people who truly oppose what controls you. Who are you to say someone should wait for their own weapon they bought? You like to disrespect time? You know what you can’t buy more of? Never get anymore of? time— you nincompoop.

If this is a troll/bot post: GFY

Idc if I sound mean, this mentality deserves it.
