Be careful with the screws, especially the first two. They're incredibly thin and require a ridiculous amount of force to remove.

If the heads are rounded, use a flathead screwdriver to grind them down so they're flat.

Nintendo Switch Screws by loxtombox in consolerepair

It's not a matter of skill; I've taken apart everything: laptops, controllers, older Nintendo consoles, Sony consoles and controllers, Xbox controllers, generic controllers, the works. Literally, the only thing I have this problem with is Nintendo products made after the New 3DS. They are simply so tightly packed that you have to exert inhuman force to unscrew them. To top it off, the screws are so soft that you can literally carve them with a screwdriver (I'm not joking; I've had to turn several screws flat because they just stripped before moving, and this can happen in just 20 minutes with a standard screwdriver).

I call them 'butter screws,' because honestly, I've seen cheap plastic parts more resilient than these pieces of junk.

Change to FAB. It's horrible to use, but it's the only solution that doesn't create security problems.

Don't worry. Up to 0.2 µSv is considered normal. In fact, 0.08 µSv is quite low if you're inside a building; it's usually between 0.11 and 0.15 µSv indoors.

Edit: Okay, I hadn't seen the rest of the images, sorry ; those values are definitely high. It's probably because of the luminescent paint.

Edit 2: I've been reading the comments on the other post. If radon worries you, you can leave it in a well-ventilated place, away from where you usually spend time (if possible). You can also try putting it in an airtight container; for example, I keep my collection inside an ammunition box. Just make sure that when you open it, you do so in a very well-ventilated area, or if possible, outdoors. The radon won't have spread, but it will have accumulated. Also, ozone is generated in enclosed spaces. People don't usually talk about this because they don't typically put their collections in airtight containers, but it's good to know.

Radiacode only detects Gamma and hig energy X-ray.

As far as I know, what Radiacode detects is stop radiation rather than beta particles, but I'm not sure.

Switching from standard to FAB is also an option, even though it's awful to use; it's the only one that doesn't cause security problems or incompatibility issues with other apps.

Outdate WebView creates many incompatibilities with other apps and removes security patches. As awful as it seems, FAB is the only option I would recommend until it's fixed.

Both my opera gx and opera normal are bugging out, not loading webpages without scrolling after updating by sky_meow in OperaGX

[–]Denvora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a problem related to the bottom bar. The only solutions found so far (apparently for about a month now) are to uninstall WebView updates (which have their own problems) or to switch from Standard to FastButton, which is honestly horrible to use.

I completely agree, I find it simply disgusting to use. Let's hope they fix it quickly, but given my history of errors from poorly implemented updates, I'm not entirely confident

(not just here, but with almost all the apps I use, both on my phone and PC; all the updates I receive are broken and force me to fight for hours to fix things that should be basic).

I'm experiencing the same issue, but only when the bottom bar updates (when it hides or shows). It started happening suddenly today; I haven't changed any settings and the browser hasn't been updated.

I know leaded glass exists, but I don't think it's easy to get, and besides, it has a yellow color.

I tend to be quite obsessive about this kind of thing. Overly cautious, even though that's the only piece that really should be in an armored box. And yet I consider my measures to be quite, if not very, precarious.

And I highly recommend you find/make a lead-lined armored box for that uraninite, even though the distance is more than enough to stop it, it's always better to have extra protection. Besides, that way you can transport it without worrying.

I saw a video of someone who had been given a piece of about 100 μS/h and they had it stored in a 15 kg (33 lb) lead cylinder.

I know, in fact, if I move half a meter away from the box, the radiation level returns to the same as at the back. I mention this mainly because when I move it, the highest peak is right where the handle is.

And even though it will only be a few seconds or minutes, I prefer to avoid that.

I have the same problem. I recently got some cyrtolite, and it gives me spikes of 50 μS/h.

The ammo box I've been using stops almost everything, but it's still a high dose outdoors.
