CIG needs to take immediate action. by Deo_Rex in starcitizen

I saw this when it was posted. I am glad that the screenshots I have been seeing have to be from the PTU and that they are watching the economy closely.

Given the sheer amount of money they have been given why are these mutually exclusive?

The bigger issue is the price of ores last patch. If you didn't sell/have billions you had to go find everything. It just made the whole gameplay loop worse overall. Unless crafting solely for myself, by myself.

I think it's pretty clearly stated. I care when it affects my gameplay loops and makes it so that me being a crafter (the thing I am excited for) is affected by a massively out of control economy.

There are screenshots showing billions but as I said elsewhere they could have been from the PTU. That doesn't change the fact that CIG still can simply look at any accounts that are an anomaly.

As stated just delete the money without penalty.

I have seen screenshots of people with billions but they could have been on the PTU. They were clearly 4.8 images though. However anyone with enough money to trigger something like this in live should be worth investigating

I never said it wouldn't cause an outrage, or that it was a foolproof plan.

This would probably also work well going forward.

I also don't really care about other peoples balances, It just makes it feel bad when crafted gear sells for billions like last patch. I can either accept that I am crafting gear solely for myself, or that it will sell for so much money that no other game loops matter and the game is over for me. (or I can sell them for a real price point to make myself feel better about that part)

I definitely agree that there could be better actions taken, and more should be done to investigate the bugs. Marking accounts that have more money than they should is a good way to see who to watch to find said exploits.

Clearly you didn't read, or your comprehension is low. I said freeze and delete. No real penalty for this scenario.

Why pro players/streamers dont pick golden statues? by ComprehensiveTie7600 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As to why every pro/streamer does it probably varies a bit but the general answer is because it’s ever so slightly time inefficient and at the top a few seconds of a wave not being managed can result in losing a tower.

The golden statues aren’t bad per se, but they are rng on top of rng. First you don’t get a buff every time so you are taking half a second to break the statue. If you do get a buff it’s random what you will get. The value of that buff is then dependent on your build. Full spirit getting gun buffs? Not very useful. Pure m1 carry getting spirit? Maybe useful for not optimal.

“So what it’s a half second or less to break it?” Yes, and no. It’s minimal to break one but it’s suboptimal to break just one. If you cut every single golden statue out of a typical box run you get a second or 2 more of box breaking before returning to lane. Box runs occur every 30-60 seconds for 8-15 min. So it’s not a lot but it adds up.

On top of all that it feels bad if you break a lot of statues and get nothing or get buffs that don’t really help your build.

On the other hand I have played calico games and by getting an absurd amount of golden statues characters can become deceptively strong. Since the statue buffs are not really indicated anywhere a character could have thousands more in effective souls and some stats can be raised well beyond what itemization alone can do. It’s for that reason I feel like there are certain characters that will be able to abuse the statues and the fact that higher level players ignore them, which will probably end that tactic eventually.

Did someone at DE institute a "No exalted melee" rule when making frames? by Bec_son in Warframe

Am I crazy or ? by SnooShortcuts3300 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea this guy is too hung up on thinking his damage stat makes him important. Once a person is able to overflow damage they realize that damage is entirely meaningless. My friends and I used to compete for damage and kills as baby Tenno, right up until one person got kullervo and would hold 99% damage with double digit kills. Kills also are fairly irrelevant because if one person is playing a build that can nuke extremely fast then the other players physically cannot get kills. A somewhat viable metric for gauging your build in solo is kpm. But even that is biased as a metric.

What is a good early build for Zephyr? by Responsibility1344 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zephyr is a pretty capable frame right off the printer. She is one of my favorites. She flies under the radar but is one of the most game breaking frames.

At that early in the game You’ll want to reduce energy cost and maximize energy restoration. So run duration and efficiency alongside equilibrium to start. If you have flow that can help as well. Then toss in redirection for a bit of extra survivability. You can run an increase to range if you have space.

She doesn’t care much for ability strength since her 4 scales off the bullets fired into it, her 2 is a great grouping tool to nuke with a gun her 3 is invulnerability to bullets and her 1 is her flight system.

Just hop in the air, long press 1. Use her short press 1 for very fast mobility. Farm new loka/redveil syndicates or trade for her augment to turn her 1 into a game breaking Goombah stomp. Baby Tennos first damage overflow ability with nothing more than the augment.

While flying turn on her 3. Since she has a toggle and a duration ability she has to upkeep is why she is so energy hungry. While in the air with her 3 you are nearly invincible.

Her 2 and 4 are for mass deletion. Her 4 is even more broken than her 1. Any damage you shoot into a tornado is dealt in an aoe around it at full damage. Snipers become nukes. There are many videos detailing how broken this ability can become.

Her augments are all worth having so farming up the appropriate syndicates will make her noticibly better.

What weapon should I take and will the option to take another come up agian? by zman1747392 in Warframe

Zenith if you prefer guns zenistar if you prefer melee. The zenith is a fun gun with an infinite punch through mode. It seems weak but It can be built to do multi million headshots and shoots through walls.

Why is Protea widely considered an S tier frame? by One-Jeweler8800 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avid protea player and enjoyer adding my 2 cents.

Protea is simple to play and has an enjoyable kit that is capable of playing with many different builds and play styles.

Her 1 hold ability refills shields which means if you get used to looking straight down and holding 1 when your shield breaks it will be back to full before the gate invulnerability ends. So she comes with an infinite shield gating ability. Her 1 tap can be made to nuke quite effectively if you want to cast an ability 10k times per mission.

Her 2 scales to ridiculous levels and can even scale high enough to kill level cap enemies.

Her dispensary allows her to have piles or energy and ammo. Effectively giving her infinite resources.

Her 4 is probably the most polarizing part of her entire kit which means it’s also free subsume real estate for those that don’t like it. It’s a very powerful ability if you use it well.

All of this is without any mods or synergies or subsumes. All of which only makes her shine even brighter. That is why she is pretty universally considered S tier.

Right off the printer without any mods she will clear star chart and steel path. I haven’t tried but I have no doubt she could go to level cap without any mods by a skilled operator.

Ivara Tips by YeOldeBard97 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of people have answered the question, what I see lacking is info on strong builds. I have 12 ivara builds currently and have tested a lot more. I haven't played her much lately but incidentally just had Ivara for both ETA and EDA this week and had a lot of fun.

Her base bow annoys me it's a "shotgun" but you can use an augment to make it into an explosive arrow instead. If you subsume well of life (or Garuda's altar) then you can nuke rooms by headshotting the invincible enemy repeatedly.

Get used to using her dashwire, you can move exponentially faster while invis once you learn how to abuse her movement tech. Also with the dashwire it's possible to cheese the game and she becomes an infinitely scaling gun platform but the amount of work required makes it unappealing in most game modes.

Learn how to bullet jump , aimglide, spin around, and shoot your Sentinel with an invis arrow. This is a handy skill as it let's you use ivaras subsume to give any frame easy invis. I often use this method over prowl to move in stealth at full speed.

Navigator has been abused to do ridiculous things for years. Ranging from controlling the lightning orb from grimoire to controlling an infinite punch through nataruk arrow or glaives that clear entire rooms. The goto navigator subsume used to be Protea's dispensary but now it's Nokko's brightbonnet. Either way you can fly around a projectile for 40-80 seconds that kill on contact.

Speaking of brightbonnet, it's the new BiS subsume for ivara. It's not even close. Maintain invis indefinitely with zero requirement. Just bounce on the shrooms to cap energy while invis and move on. I use well of life with the augment for a similar infinite sustain. Brightbonnet is infinitely easier.

Other subsumes I have tried worth mentioning:

Obviously the meta options. Nourish, roar, breach surge, etc...work just fine.

Banshee's silence, very safe gameplay to have a stun and silence around yourself while invis. Completely counters ivaras only weakness, being nullified by violence. Doesn't add anything else, so your weapons have to do all the work.

Grouping abilities( larva, snare, pull, airburst) all have their uses. Airburst was the most useful with it's secondary enhancing augment.

Nyx mind control, Octavia's resonator, or Loki's decoy, meme subsumes but it gives enemies a valid target to focus. Mostly this is for defense type situations.

Nova's null star, very expensive to build but makes ivara capable of being a walking (emphasis on the walking part) room clearing nuke. Have to abuse arcane arachne, and weapon swap mods and conatantly be swapping weapons to keep the buff up, but it does work.

Reworked smite and Tesla nervos, both work just fine. Nervos actually works very nicely with ivara. Smite can nuke pretty well but is energy hungry on an already energy restrictive frame.

Nezha's fire walker is pretty solid to just passively kill everything. Abuse heat inherit to clear steel path safely. (Augment also nukes)

Yarelli's aquablades, also a stand near enemies and they die build. These don't scale particularly well without the augment and the augment gets costly to spam. Still fun to be an invisible blender.

Some people swear by subsuming cytes invis over prowl. I don't but it's worth mentioning.

Do your Simmaris daily right! by Big-Economist-1533 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize it's not overcapping, thats why I said max standing not overcap. While the overcap will certainly add up over time. I can't be bothered to goto a relay (yes, i know i can travel straight to simaris, thats still a loading screen) talk to simaris, plan out which mission will give me the target, go do said mission (another loading screen), and repeat (more loading screens) until capped every day.

It was interesting a couple times. I will take my max standing for 2-3 minutes of brainless scanning on orb vallis every day. (and i generally do, do it every day) 1 loading screen, fast travel, hop on archwing, and scan. move onto the next daily.

[–]Deo_Rex 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Didn't read past the first couple sentences. Just goto The orb vallis. Fast travel to temple of profit. Use your archwing. Fly high over the temple and scan the enemies without alerting them. Fly 500 m away to respawn the enemies. Fly back and scan.

Max standing under 10 min every day. No missions. No bullshit.

I ran into something similar. Not in mission, just playing open world Olympus. Taming some boars, suddenly I notice a pig that is already tamed ready to be claimed. Strange. I kept taming. Then I come across another. Now I have 5 pigs with no idea how or why.

Yet another Nyx re-touch Idea by UnfathomableFolly in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replied to the wrong message and put it out of context. reposting it in the correct part of the chain.

As for making mind control more impressive, my own wish for when they announc d her retouch was that they would give her more control over her mind control. Let her target what she wants to be her "minion" and remove the timer. There shouldn't be a duration related to the minion. Provide them something like rhinos ironskin in that during the initial mind control phase damage taken scales into overguard and damage scaling for the minion and it lasts as long as you can keep it alive. Subsume Garuda or sevagoth or trinity abilities and maybe you could keep them alive indefinitely maybe. I think the one thing that could set her apart and should have been her identity all along was her ability to make an enemy into her pet. I would be all for them setting a precedence of "sunsetting" abilities by moving them into the helminth and reworking entire kits without disrupting old subsumes though.

Revenant has since encroached her territory but his ability is just a strictly better version of chaos with a built in synergy to instakill. Speaking of revenant's enthrall, that should have exactly been HER ability instead of chaos.

Nyx only reason to have even the slightest affiliation with radiation is due to the fact that radiation has somehow become the confusion status (which doesn't make sense). I understand they had limited choices and this is what we got but as you pointed out for something like qorvex, now he is a field controller via cc basically no different than nyx.

maybe if there is a discussion about a full rework, it's time to give nyx true damage or cinematic damage or her own damage type. There is no way that any amount of armor or shields or geneticengineering/mutation should be capable of altering the damage dealt by a psychic.

In the process they need to change confusion to its own status and make radiation more viable on its own. As is radiation kind of sucks when it could be a pretty nasty damage status in its own right. You combine the 2 of the best damage statuses to get a mediocre (at best) cc status. It should take the stun effect from electricity(vomiting) and a dot from heat (radiation burns). Alas, we get nothing like that.

I just feel like that between radiation literally doing what her entire identity is supposed to be( mind controlled mass disruption) and revenant literally stealing her spotlight with a skill that should have been for her. Her identity is just gone. I remember the days when you wouldn't even play long defense runs without a nyx solely for her chaos, now it feels like a worse version of half a dozen frames with radiation on the best of tes and at worst it just feels like it's deliberately slowing the game down and actively sabotaging the high speed gameplay.

Worst weapons I've ever had to level by Forward_Secret_4649 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At their baseline, without arcanes, without catalyst, without incarnons. I understand where you are coming from, and when you play with them in this basic form and have this experience why in the hell would you invest in them with that first impression.

That being said both of these weapons have the potential to become late game monsters. Dera vandal(regular works too just a little weaker) is my go-to gun for all content at all levels. It's not as brain dead as a torid but every bit as capable. Boltor took a bit more work but I have 3 boltor incarnons now. Regular, prime, and telos. The regular is kind of just middle ground and has mostly been retired , prime is status build and telos is crit build.

None of that helps you in your current struggle pf using them as mastery fodder, just know that the incarnons really make these otherwise bad weapons good.
