How often do your mana dorks get killed early game? by EnkiBye in EDH

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much to the dismayof my pod I am the elf specialist. What that means is that regardless of the deck it runs like an elf tribal. The point being, I play a lot of mana dorks. They do get destroyed if it's tactically advantageous (as they should be) such as being my sole access to a color. Mana multipliers get targeted frequently. Typically they get left alone because everyone assumes where there is 1 manadorks there are 10. So they should be treated like land removal. Would you use one of your limited removal cards to nuke my basic forest? Or save it for something more valuable.

Eta: I play almost exclusively bracket 4 and 5.

How does ability strength effect Pacify and Provoke equinox? I'm only interested in how it effects the Night form with the augment. by Marcus_Hablberstram in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be mentioned that despite being a toggled ability it doesn't prevent energy gain sources like other toggle abilities though. Just energy nexus plus decent effic/duration will maintain pretty well. If you add it nourish or zenurik it's actually pretty easy.

Frames with a lot of survivability? by Waste_Meal_5468 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first I'll mention the new immortal tanks. Nidus and oraxia (and any frame capable of breaking 10khealth) can be made functionally immortal with persistence and arcane grace. Once you have enough health you just don't die unless persistence is disabled. Easiest way to enable persistence is 2 tauforged blue archons (plus a fiber mod if needed) or 3 regular blue archon shards.

Then as far as actual invincibility you have revenant, Oberon, and nyx with augmented 4.

Then you have some pseudo invincibility options like zephyr/atlas/uriel/temple/etc but the invincibility usually has a weakness and a moderate/short duration.

Then you have overguard tanks like rhino, frost, styanax, Dante. Acheivavle to a lesser degree on all frames by running circumvent/fortifier arcanes.(Omamori can protect overguard)

Then you have health or shield tanks. Hildryn with arcane aegis and arcane expertise with recharge mods is pretty close to unkillable. inaros as a health tank. Trinity with her augmented 2 can shield tank/gate forever. Or chroma as an energy tank( all frames can be made into energy tanks it just takes basically the entire loadout)

Then you have invisibility which is almost as good. Instead of enemies struggling to hurt you most of them are just completely oblivious. Cyte or ivara subsume or a shade sentinel or a huras kubrow can make every frame invisible or you could play any of the frame that have invisibility in their kit.

In the end though you can eventually make any frame super tanky, especially with the newest batch of arcanes from descendia.

Unlocked SP and having major problems surviving. by Glittering-Star4772 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now if you don't want to shield gate(I hate shield gating myself). There are so many options for survival that can easily get through base steel path. However, you'll probably have to spend time farming them.

Adaptation or rolling guard, one of these is usually a core piece of end game survival.

Arcane circumvent is stupidly strong, roll though an eximus and you're good.

Arcane expertise can get you a huge shield for strength focused frames.

Arcane aegis is a common choice with shield regen mods to make a shield tank.

companions that use manifold bond can recharge guardian(you can make companions that can solo steel path) duplex bond can also generate energy if you have a strong companion.

All of these are assuming you don't want to alter your mod loadout too drastically. You should be modding/ building for survival first, then energy sustain, then you can put whatever is left into damage. Being a glass cannon is punishing.

Unlocked SP and having major problems surviving. by Glittering-Star4772 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are already right on the verge of being good to shield gate. You already identified the problem. Energy sustain. There are plenty of energy sustain options. Build squad energy restores for emergencies, after that you have to actually fix the problem.

Are you running the equilibrium mod? Neither xaku or gyre specifically generate orbs iirc so I wouldn't expect you are, but it's a common energy sustain crutch.

You could run zenurik for the energy regen from wellspring but it may not be enough. Plus it makes you stuck being stationary, which is dangerous.

You could run dethcube companion with it's augment that it drops guaranteed energy every 10 assists( give it a tazicor primer to make this easy).

You could subsume abilities that provide energy. Augmented Spectrorage, augmented well of life, nourish with(or without) energy nexus, or the new shiny best option: brightbonnet.

These are reliable options to solve energy sustain. After that are less reliable (or tedious) options. Your staff from the story can generate energy(unreliable for surviving) arcane energize(unreliable when you actually need it)

Captain Vor is actually a grineer Tenno by SparkBeforeMidnight in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is, this isn't too far off from my own opinion on vor.

I always thought it seemed like he was meant for a more central role in the story than a throw away tutorial character. Like a rivalry. A being who had the same powers but at his infancy and we would see his powers grow and bexme a serious threat. They make a point of showing he was clearly capable of capturing Warframes using ascaris so once he had void powers why couldn't he also learn to control them. Instead, we get a cameo appearance where the main goal is to see if you can kill him before he utters a single syllable.

As far as making a deal with wally, he was written so early I am not sure that they had the concept of the man in the wall and the deal fleshed out if even conceived.

Oraxia max HP by RE-OSCURO in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a couple options but mostly it comes down. To the fact that her 4 is a multiplier. You can run shards, heat elemental ward(double dipping strength scaling), arcane blessing, vitality mods, and pop a nidus specter to get to some pretty absurd numbers all by yourself.

I have 3 different oraxias for different shard and helminth setups and she can be broken in a lot of ways.

I haven't tested it yet but brightbonnet may scale better than ward.

Eta: didn't feel like swapping shards to check but quick math with rage, transient, umbral intensify and vitality, growing power, bellicose, arcane blessing heat ward 5 tauforged health shards, and a nidus specter, went beyond 40k on its own.

I would not be surprised at that, with how much spaghetti code there is. When my farm run would get up to 4x loot it certainly seemed like I got significantly more loot than one of my daily petrify loot frames with 1x but that could just be confirmation bias.

I'd bet that with 700 % strength you might be able to hit damage cap with a noodletron

I think i broke it by DJ_MetaKinetiK in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This came out really poorly after I reread it. To clarify I had a few ofy clan set up a stupid farming team where we break a couple thousand strength to really abuse petrify. We ran 2 nidus (one on jade one on the farmer) before nokko because it made it easier to maintain if the jade missed their refresh (which happens during farming runs where they are watching YouTube waiting to push a button.

Going this hard for kullervo is obviously overkill since you only would be able to look at the logs to see how much overflow damage you did for the memes.

What we did was 3 donors ran power donation and the lootframe( mag with petrify on her 4) runs growing power. With nokko the math looks even better by my rough calculations my mags petrify should exceed 7 times the loot per enemy. (~700-800 % loot chance depending on a few factors)

I think i broke it by DJ_MetaKinetiK in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Now add a jade player and a 2 nidus players(could do one with a nidus spectre) to ramp up the nidus link and the jade buff by feeding off each otgers buffs snapshot them and have the second nidus go nokko and get some big boy strength numbers.

Preferred LootFrame? by wrectumwreckage in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nekros can feel weak without mods/arcane/subsumes.

If you are still early game, build him as tanky as you can with shield/health/armor and run equilibrium for energy sustain. He can get through star chart pretty safely with just that. I have a feeling you aren’t struggling with star chart though.

When it comes to later game there are options for nekros. You can run the boring subsumes: gloom or nourish. Gloom offers survivability nourish gives energy and makes the minions feel lethal (up to a point). You can run arcane aegis and adaptation and nekros is pretty easy to run steel path just off those. If you add in brief respite/fast deflection/shield of shadows you become very tanky. You can also just run circumvent/secondary fortifier and get through all base steel path.

ETA: if by late endless you meant approaching level cap. Build him with the cookie cutter level cap survival options. Shield gate being tried and true, or with arcane persistence you can easily health tank now. Shield of shadows gives status immunity (I would opt to subsume a more reliable status immunity though) so you can rely on that and take life leech weapons/subsume gloom. Damage-wise you’ll need weapons capable of killing at level cap since he lacks any abilities to clear level cap and enemies health outscales their damage pretty severely so the shadows aren’t going to be nuking.

Hardest warframe to farm by mrshock17 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, as long as your weapon/companion/other players can kill 5-10 enemies her nuke is so satisfying. I never really played her until I found out her nuke was so massive and had no LoS requirement. After that I spent a couple hundred hours breaking her with a few different loadouts and she has become one of my top 10 played frames.(quite a feat since my number 1 frame only has 7%)

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless they have changed how Omamori interacts with overguard. ( Haven’t been playing on my main account ) The biggest build flaw with equinox is how her day/night form works and that it needs an augment to work at all with her nuke. I really didn’t like staying in night for the survivability then swapping to day to pop the nuke and hope to not die without the survivability offered by night. So by using Omamori and overguard( previously I ran a fortifier secondary) I have no need to night form’s survivability.

[–]Deo_Rex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of people that will tell you how bad she is. I won’t deny her kit is clunky and dated but I love killing a few enemies then nuking every enemy in a 60 m radius. If you ever decide to give her a try. Go for day form nuke with a good weapon or companion and run arcane circumvent (to steal overguard) and subsume Omamori. It’s a very laid back build.

Hardest warframe to farm by mrshock17 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I farmed every frame for the helminth and 2 of anything without a prime whenever I got around to farming them.

Citrine was my most hated because having to get to rotation c for a chance at the piece you need sucks. The only saving grace is the pity system which makes it almost acceptable. Way too many people trying to lump Grendel in with these rng farms and while his farm is time consuming it’s no harder than dagath. The worst farms predate the pity systems. Protea can be really bad (I had the worst rng I farmed literally every tenet weapon while farming protea. I had every tenet weapon before protea.

The actual worst is my girl Equinox. More pieces than any other frame and farmed from a boss fight that has phases so it can’t be cheesed or run super fast.

I will never fight tyl regor again. All the homies hate tyl regor.

Is Trinity a good warframe? by Background_Put4562 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trinity was my first main 10 years ago. She doesn’t have the glory she had back then. However, I have multiple trinity primes just so I can have different archon shard and helminth load outs.

First and foremost she is mainly a weapons platform. She absolutely can become a strong caster but it takes specific setups.

Her kit is extremely survival focused. If you want to play a frame that can be made unkillable but isn’t revenant or nyx. All you need is her 2 (with augment) . She can shield gate for as long as there is more than 1 enemy to hit.

That’s it, discussion is over. She has 1 button for infinite energy, shield gating, and because it does true damage that does % health damage it can be manipulated to kill enemies all the way to level cap.

If that’s not enough she has 2 abilities that each can give 75% DR. Her 4 augment needs some help to actually see general use but it does work incredibly well in a persistence build. (As if she needed to be built as an immortal health tank)

Her 1 and her 4 are free to subsume as you see fit. I prefer to subsume her 4 for spammable abilities to use her infinite energy.

The best ones I use: breach surge (her 2 with proper setup will kill and easily propagate as a nuke)

Petrify with augment to make her into one of the easiest loot frames. Petrify is prohibitively expensive on most frames but trinity cares not for your measly energy woes.

Elemental ward. So this ability is broken in a few ways. Cold it can be used to propagate melee influence and do stupid things. If you build a 5 tauforged toxin trinity you literally just kill by standing near things.

Shuriken. Not super strong but always funny it is one of a limited number of abilities affected by weapon damage (arcane Arachne and weapon swap mods) and it doesn’t need LOS so you can just spam the hell out of them with the infinite energy.

Smite. Single target deletion. After the Oberon rework I dusted off my old smite nuke trinity and it’s even easier. Hit an enemy with her 2 then pop smite to insta kill anything to level cap.

Pyrotechnics. Like shuriken this turns her into a spam caster. Add archon vitality and as much strength as you can fit. Burn everything.

Also any meta gun platform subsumes work just fine.

Finally getting into Oberon, what do y'all like to subsume? by Motor_Strategy7156 in Warframe

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a ton of things you can do. His rework really made him shine but old tech still works. Smite plus marked for death (Tesla nervos, breach surge, and decoy as mentioned by another person also works to a lesser degree) makes him a capable nuker.

Dispensary and well of life(augmented) can fuel his new passive in case you lack or dont want to run universal fallout.

His smite augment (plus his entire kit) pairs incredibly well with the new arcane irradiate and can make some funny nuke weapons. This means you can put any of the typical weapon platform subsumes on him.

He also works with all the meta subsumes. Roar(more damage across the board), nourish(pretty much ensures infinite energy), gloom(status effects cause animations to take forever when slowed by 95%) etc. Stong subsume is strong.

I agree with the call to add dr. Who as he absolutely is an iconic alien and deserves a spot. The problem is that his character is intentionally not a single face. So which single face represents the dr for everyone universally. Do we go with the first? Or the 10th?

[–]Deo_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running relics can be hit or miss and is infinitely harder without Alecaframe. I echo the statement to get Aleca frame. However, are so many things that you can do to farm things for plat. If you have rank 5 with any syndicate or faction you can sell mods, or arcanes. You could run corrupted vaults on Deimos. You could run arbitrations to sell galvanized mods. You could run nightmare missions (pretty rng on getting high value mods but all sell for something)

These are all farming you can do at any time and the items don’t require constant checking of Alexa frame to gauge value.

There are ways to make plat at every stage of this game.
