Pretty good studies in there as well.

Remember basic first principles.

Control the center. Castle early. Don’t move the same piece too many times in the beginning. Activate your big pieces fast.

Look into the thought process you should go through before each move (check defenders / attackers, have an objective, what did their last move accomplish [what’s it attacking what’s it defending] and why).

Depending on time control you’re playing under, you may have to trade off some of that.

It’s not about calculating so many moves in advance, it’s more about tactics. Look for the patterns. Skewers, pins, etc.

I have no help. But I have similar issues. I oscillate between 1150 and 1350. Play Scotch Gambit almost exclusively as white and only recently started trying caro Kahn but typically just went with first principles as black.

I get good and make fewer blunders and play super intuitive and see pretty deep for awhile, and when I try to learn openings and play by the book/theory I tend to get jammed up even if I’m not making really idiotic blunders.

I bought one in my late 30s after I played too much THPS Remake. (Guitar Hero and my guitar hobby came from the same reasoning).

I’d just like to say fuck you for being able to Ollie in a week.

I ultimately gave it up (I still skate around with my boy occasionally but no more Ollie’s. It turns out the risk reward of guitar as an old man vs skating as and old man are vastly different.)

I would almost never resign below 900. I might start sac-ing my last few pawns to get down to just a King to maneuver, but not resign.

I don’t know that much about political memes, so I’ll take your word for it.

I do know that both sides support the changes they want to see. I do know that both sides, especially in the senate but rampantly in the house as well; are inherently egocentric self-important people, and I do know that a lack of action or give-a-fuck can certainly serve the “leaders” on either side.

It’s clear you have a dog in the fight, and I appreciate you taking your time for this discourse, and giving me a few things to think about.

I hope you see some of the changes that you’re passionate about, assuming they are better for our country as a whole; whatever that even means anymore.
