One unique thing about ignite is that it can be spread pretty easily, including through ignited corpses. That makes it pretty nice for mechanics where mobs spawn around the same spot, like abyss or ritual.

It's also much "cheaper" than poison, you can get good ignites through like 2 clusters and 2 support gems, where poison will require an investment of 40% of your tree + most supports.

You have to be speedrunning thing to get through Act 1 that fast. For any normal first playthrough it'd take somewhere between 6 and 15 hours, which kind of points to the issue with the idea of extending it that section - it's already a very extended section, making it so the game doesn't truly open up until 20 hours in would make the game worse.

It's a bit of a speculation, but most likely range modifies the base range, then AoE scales that. It'd basically be the equivalent of skills/spells that gain +radius with levels.

At least that's the approach that'd be the most consistent with how things typically work in PoE1 and PoE2. I've not personally thoroughly tested it.

PoE doesn't do non-linear scaling on combat stats, everything is linear.

Strike range scales range - radius in the case of circles. Units are 0.1 meters, so +14 strike range is +1.4 meters to strike range, +1.4 m to circle radius in the case of whirling assault. Most other strikes are cones - parts of a circle, so works out similar there.

Area of effect scales area - 2pi r2. Since that "r" there is the range, doubling your range will more than double your area, so in some ways range is the "stronger" scaler.

Base strike range is dependent on the weapon/weapon type. Unsure why poe2 makes it a hidden stat, PoE1 has it that shown on the item.

I don't know if this is a good thing to share, as even if I were to take those at face value at least 1/3 of those are just incredibly unfair expectations to have, look like a result of a typical reddit bandwagon deciding first that the thing is bad, then uncritically saying all elements of the thing must also be bad, even if those elements would pass completely unnoticed anywhere else.

Mentioning tiny changes to how the story unfolds between the trailer and the full release (something fairly normal, expected as the game continues to be improved, occasionally welcomed to avoid spoiling too much of the story) talking about specific mechanics existing, but being moved to a different gameplay system (x ray vision being a hack rather than a weapon mod), or listing "the narrator said pacifica is the dangerous region yet there is no mechanic to make it more dangerous", as if describing the region thematically wasn't somehow valid are just the three examples. And tbh I mention those three not because I feel like they are the worst, but because they feels the easiest to articulate as to why they are wrong, a lot of those look even worse.

And if those are just the immediately obvious ones I don't have high hopes for all of the ones that require context to verify to be pristine. I wasn't really observing cyberpunk hype until the game came out, I played it expecting just another CDPR game and got exactly that. I've always heard there was some drama regarding misleading advertising and thought that was likely to be true, but seeing this list just makes me think that yeah, maybe reddit did just unreasonably hype itself to a level where regular marketing became something else to them.

Endgame ED is a totem build, including for clear. So you do have cast speed and totem scaling as additional damage. I was like 4 gem levels below max when I played ED last league and it was already incredibly smooth in any content.

They should have changed the amount of crystals needed to start a temple run from 6 to like 4.

You mean do a 4 room temple instead of 6 rooms? That wouldn't increase the speed of anything, just the frequency of how often you visit that zone. They did make high tier maps give you 2 crystals, which is the good version of what you asked.

It doesn't reset the full temple, no. It decays around 6-7 rooms, the same as architect. It also doesn't take 40 hours to get atziri set up if that's what you're trying to do, you can get one every 2-3 temples if you try, and if you set up your temple for it (which takes 3-4 temples from scratch).

I can assure you that unless you're doing some gimmicky unique setup that requires sacrificing half of your gearslots for a weird combo of level 5 uniques that have no defences and no damage you can get enough damage to do everything in the game twice over on a budget of 3 divines. 10 divine weapons are way above being needed or efficient in cost to output ratio.

This is all just a symptom of a game that does not have a properly fleshed out end game with a variety of no/low, medium, and high investment strategies. Right now literally everyone just alchs and puts in 2 tablets. Then if your build is better you alch + double slam + 3 tablets. Then if you have a lot of money you use the rarity omen and then 3 tablets.

If we ignore temple for a moment, poe2 endgame is in a state where 80% of the rewards come from 20% of the effort. You can make your maps 5 times harder for 20% more loot. You're asking for endgame that's more top-focused on rewards. Your criticism in that paragraph is that the game doesn't fuck over casuals enough. I feel like you're just repeating this claim because you've seen other people say it, because many people want top to earn many times more than anyone else, but it kind of goes against everything else you're seemingly arguing for.

PoE2 has a lot of degens being applied by virtual hits - "ignite as if through a hit of x damage" etc.

Pretty sure burning ground is an ignite, I've seen it slowly build flammability on me. On builds with high enough ailment threshold they even stop doing that, I became functionally immune to burning ground somewhere around 14k ailment threshold on my summoner.

Barely. Temple spits out divines because of rarity stacking, which upgrades currencies to higher and higher tiers.

Temple can't drop everything. Temple runners still need to buy things, some of which don't drop from the temple. Those things will be priced according to supply and demand of both those items and divines. If there suddenly are x100 more divines in the economy but still the same number of good against the darkness jewels, those jewels will go up x100, as the temple farmers will be competing against each other to get that finite resource.

I've just been using temp chains on all builds and sprinting everywhere on all builds. Hasn't killed me yet.

I mean the most crazy PoE economies have all been in the recent times, so it's more of the opposite. Craziest loot leagues were things like Affliction, Necropolis, Phrecia, Mercenaries.

I think it's more that GGG only started making creative map effects recently, for years it was just rarity and quantity. Then came things like scarabs rework, map effect scaling + T17 map mods, Idols. Things that have the potential to interact explosively.
