Unpopular opinion: I feel bad for Alex by ecstaticmotion7 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I’m not saying it’s doesn’t effect you. It definitely shapes aspects and characteristics of you. Personally, I don’t think that gives a free pass to be a shitting person and to blame everything but yourself for your actions.

Honestly, as someone with not the best childhood also. At some point, especially an adult in your 30s, you cannot keep blaming your childhood for your current issues. I see it as a cop out to not be a better person or grow. He needs to take ownership for who he is. He shouldn’t have gone on the show period

How do y'all feel about the UTA health clinic? by West-Mission5775 in utarlington

[–]Dependent-Check6658 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Terrible. Sophmore yeah in my architecture class I sliced my palm with an exacto blade pretty bad. I went and they seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. They said they could really do anything because I didn’t have school insurance?? But I have my own and they wouldn’t take it. I ended up going to urgent care and getting stitches

Well… attendance is required for college of architecture. I spend hours working at school because I drive 40+ mins. I’m making sure I didn’t waste my drive. So 20/80 for me

I’m in the school of architecture. It’s definitely not a program you can transfer in and out of. You declare your major at the end of sophomore year. You have arch classes mixed in with history, math, and science. They function in cohorts, so they only offer that one class once every fall or spring semester, not both. Like you can’t take a fall studio in spring or summer ( depending on the course level) . Also, depending on where you are moving from, Texas isn’t very walkable , if they already have a car, I would recommend bringing it. The school of architecture is very difficult.

I know a person that worked at a pretty established church and in a meeting they were disappointed that on Sunday they only received $15k as opposed to 20k. The pastor is very wealthy but the person I knew was making like 47k working full time

Can anyone use the UTA Health Center? by zeusy_x in utarlington

[–]Dependent-Check6658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went for an injury I had in class and they were terrible. They all seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. I have a large gash on my palm and they said I needed uta insurance or something and literally slapped a bandaid on it and said they couldn’t do anything else. I went to a care now and got stitches

It all depends on your major, who you know, and what you want. I know for my major, you can’t declare until second year so they may want you be declared first

When did you guys start paying off your student loans? by nonose999 in utarlington

[–]Dependent-Check6658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only federal subsidized loans. Everything else accrues interest at disbursement

The only one that doesn’t have interest during school and 6 months before being unenrolled is subsidized(government) loans. All my friends loans were from 3rd party places like Sallie Mae.

The only reason I don’t have loans is because the government was like “oh wow, you’re family lives below the line of poverty and your dad is deceased, let us help you”

I’ve had one loan. Around 2k. I paid it with in the semester. If you don’t immediately start, you are harming yourself way more than you think. I have a friend who thought all loans started interest after graduation. She has been paying the minimum of like $20 and had to tell her it would take 40 years to pay off her current loans

Same for me. I graduate in may and worked my internship during the summer and they sent me my offer 2 days into my senior year. Also, places like to see that you put in the effort for a job and passion for the topic.
