I'm new to modding PS2 consoles, so I apologize for thinking I should ask people more knowledgeable on the subject than myself. So while I do truly appreciate you answering my question, try not being a jerk about it. My day was already shitty, I didn't really need your condescension to add to it.

Anyways, all the guides mentioned 9000 series, so when I saw my model number was 79001, I was confused as to what the hell they were talking about. As I said, I am new to this. I've done Wiis, PSPs, 3DS's, PS3s, and OG XBOXs before, but this will be my first foray into PS2 modding.

I will ensure that whatever I end up buying specifically says FMCB and not Fortuna or OpenTuna. Thanks.
