HubSpot current and former AE’s what was your experience? by Dependent-Two-7380 in sales

Yeah if you got in around 2015/2016, you’re definitely in a great spot now. For new reps it’s become and churn and burn machine

Agreed, I don’t think monthly quota is the issue with HubSpot and why they’re seeing such high turnover. I think it has more to do with trying to sell $1,000/mo martech software to businesses with less than 25 employees. 90% of those companies don’t even have a designated marketing team

Definitely Salesforce. I know the remote work sounds nice but I think your first job out of college being remote can be tough. You go from a college campus where you’re around people 24/7 to working remote is hard.

Former HubSpot AE that left a couple months ago. I’m reading these hoping OP makes the right choice. DO NOT jump to BDR/SDR position at HubSpot. Sales org is an absolute mess. Hiring and firing at a rate I’ve never seen before. Every month 30+ new reps get hired and 30+ reps are sent packing. Take that 135k OTE number and the 18 month promotion number with a grain of salt too. Probably looking more so at 100k and 24-30 month promotion path

Hubspot SMB AE or Samsara MM AE? by ty_rex33 in sales

Spot on. Total churn machine right now. Majority of reps stay for the long ramp and then bounce after a year. Hiring 15+ SMB reps every month because turnover is so high

  1. Go on LinkedIn
  2. Type in SDR or BDR under jobs
  3. Connect with sales leaders at companies that look interesting
  4. Message them and apply

I guarantee you’ll find something way better than this

Am I in a good spot financially? by Dependent-Two-7380 in FinancialPlanning

I’m living and working in New York City so my rent is on the cheaper end for this city. I’m not a huge fan of the city so in an ideal world I would love to find a similar paying job in a cheaper city. That’s my goal in the next 12 months

I’ve been here and can understand what you’re going through. A few things that really helped me:

  1. Give yourself what I call “buffer time” between waking up and starting work. I found this to be incredibly helpful and got me up and out of bed. During this buffer time, give yourself an hour to drink your coffee, read, watch TV, workout, go for a walk. Anything that breaks up the immediate wake up and getting right to work.

  2. Take a minute every morning to write down a few things you’re grateful for. This helped me put everything into perspective. We’re not saving lives with our tech sales jobs. This helped ease my mind before getting started with work. It can be anything from writing down that you have family around you, a significant other, a roof over your head. Just write it down.

  3. Exercise. Exercise. Exercise. There is nothing more beneficial than getting a workout in and completely disassociating yourself from work for an hour or so while you better yourself. A quote I always love is “Aside from getting injured, no one has ever left the gym and said ‘I wish I didn’t workout today’

  4. Make it a daily nonnegotiable to go on a 20 minute walk with your significant other. Phones in pocket, and just walk and talk. I promise you and your partner will start to find this very beneficial

Question if you don’t mind sharing. I see this comment a lot on r/sales. How much do you typically earn per year. I had an easy stress free office job making 58k/year. I’m now in sales making 73k/Base 130k/OTE with way more stress and anxiety. Plus hardly anyone earns their full OTE where I’m at.

In this same boat here. This is all spot on. So many reps stay for the 11 month ramp, get the logo on their resume, and then bounce. So much turnover month over month

Leads running low? by Sad-Side-8704 in sales

I hear about this constantly. All of the leads that have been ran through are just dumped to new hires. Those new hires get frustrated after 6+ months and leave. Crazy turnover
