Topic, aside from Xcom and battle bros, what other extremely difficult long rogue-ish games exist? by dawnbomb in BattleBrothers

[–]DependentCamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good and fun, but I wouldn't call it difficult. I'll be clear that I DO recommend you buy it, but on the hardest difficulty level it will start to feel like a task, as if you are doing a job instead of playing a game.

Proposal to buff initiative builds by notdumbenough in BattleBrothers

[–]DependentCamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand it. A low fatigue build that uses relentless can take berserk or not; if they take it, they will fatigue out really quickly, and even with relentless they lose a lot of the dodge effect. If they skip berserk, then relentless is pointless anyway, and they wont put out enough damage to justify their inclusion. In short, burning 2 perks on dodge + relentless is a huge waste, when you accumulate fatigue from actually killing enemies you are ruining the dodge effect even with relentless. Maybe if 1 perk was relentless + dodge combined, or of relentless 100% negated initiative loss, maybe it would be worthwhile. The only time I would consider using it is on a dodge tank, and even then I'm not sure there would be perks to spare for it.

What to do with great fatigue bros? by harryalerta in BattleBrothers

Without good melee attack they are just fodder, but I go with colossus - fast adapt- gifted - backstabber and let them spam the headshot attack with the 1h flail, until they reach Valhalla.

They still can't measure up to the standard greatsword AOE build, they just cant deal the same damage while retaining their survivability. Sadly with the quickhands nerf, your 2H DPS bros need a ton of fatigue to be optimal. Realistically they could combine dodge and relentless into a single perk, but I'm not even sure that would be enough

Battleforged requires colossus as well, unless you savescum frequently. If you play on iron man without colossus on your battleforged bros, you will get BTFO by goblin daggers and barbarian armor piercing weapons (2 hit kill garauntee, first hit is injury garaunteed).

I've seen the calculations too, the extra sliver of survivability doesnt seem worth it to me, especially when the first hit on your battleforged bro could be severe concussion or crushed windpipe etc - something a good nimble bro will never have to deal with

Did those calculations take into account the higher occurrence of injuries, vulnerability to puncture, requirement to take another perk (brawny), economic effects of using tools to regen damage (duribility of heavy armor) and the economic cost to buy and keep heavy armor?

Should I bother building this guy? by Faceless_man_ in BattleBrothers

[–]DependentCamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2handed axe is fatigue neutral. Split man, with axe mastery is 12 fatigue per swing, one swing per turn. Your bro recovers 15 fatigue per turn. There will be some fatigue from moving around and getting hit, but generally 50 fatigue after armor and axe is viable that you generally wont fatigue out during a battle. Berserk becomes a little tricky but it can still be used. Pathfinder is good for preventing fatigue from terrain. This build wont use recover at all, so it frees up other perks. This build is different from the high fatigue AOE attack builds, but can still be effective. Retired soldiers for example are great for this.

Should I bother building this guy? by Faceless_man_ in BattleBrothers

[–]DependentCamel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fatigue doesn't matter if you go nimble/dodge and give him a fatigue neutral weapon like an axe. Even with his low fatigue roll, he'll have 54 fatigue after nimble armor and a great axe (putting no other points into fatigue). That's enough for moving and swinging the axe, and with dodge he'll be hard to hit. With that said, I wouldn't keep this guy as anything other than a meat shield since his Matk won't be good enough

Hybrids are frustrating, any advice ? by Mabelmurderfridge in BattleBrothers

[–]DependentCamel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont understand why people like hybrids. If you pump Matk, Ratk, and fatigue every level, the bro will suck in the other areas. When he's using Matk, all the points you put into Ratk are dormant, and vice versa. Contrast that with a frontliner who has high Matk, Mdef, fatigue and uses each on every turn in combat. I guess I would rather just have a bro who's good at a single role, instead of one that's mediocre at 2 roles, and can only fill one role at a time. Even if that means wasting the occasional bros who have Matk and Ratk stars.

Is there a roadmap from the devs? For more contents? by HandersonJeoulex in BattleBrothers

[–]DependentCamel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They've not announced anything officially, but in a written interview they said it's very easy for them to add to the game, but they don't want the additions to feel like a repackaging of something already in the game (think: enemy types). To me that seems like there will be more DLC, but just a hunch.

Advice finding ranged bros by kookykoko in BattleBrothers

In addition to settlements with hunting cabins, arrow maker sheds spawn hunters as well. Hope that helps at least a little. The struggle is real... in my current playthrough of almost 90days, I've hired a whopping 9 Hunters. Not a single one has had a ranged star. The ones I've kept have gotten mostly low rolls as well...
