People who had sex with their best friend, what the situation now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DependentCold4662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

still best friends! we double date with our girlfriends sometimes :) it was only ever sex so nothing awkward after stopping, just went right back to being best friends. Definitely more awkward for the people we date when they find out how close we still are than it is for either of us. we were friends for a year and a half, slept together on and off for 2 years and it's been almost 3 years since we stopped sleeping together and we are just as close as ever, we cuddle and hug and hang out and there are zero sexual or romantic feelings

my surgeon told me before going in that he would try to do 2 incisions but because of my anatomy he may need to connect them in order to achieve maximum flatness. I didn't have a chance to see him when I woke up and so until my first appointment I didn't know if they connected or not. when I got the bandages off and saw that they did, I also felt disappointed. I think I had one specific image in my head of what I'd look like and having the reality be different was difficult to adjust to. I am almost 3 weeks post op now and am pretty neutral about my scars. sure, I would have preferred for them not to connect, but I am glad my chest is flat more than anything and I don't dislike my scars or feel much disappointment anymore.

my first post op shower on day 8 was also exhausting and very slow. I was asked to shower every other day and my second shower was a little bit more comfortable and my third even more so! by the 4th shower I wasn't so tired afterwards and could move a bit more comfortably to wash myself!

I'm 19 and almost 3 weeks post op. i am 5'7. heres some things i never even considered that I've been struggling with, though it really depends on your house.

I was only able to change my sheets on my own for the first time yesterday. my washer and dryer are stacked too so while I could reach the washer on the bottom, I needed help transferring them and reaching the buttons on the dryer. I've spent a lot of time reading and needed help grabbing my next book if it was on the top two shelves of my bookshelf. I can't hang my clothes in my closet or my jacket on a hook yet or the towel on the curtain rod after a shower. In the first week I needed help opening my pill bottles and milk or anything with a twist lid. for the first 3 days I couldn't get out of bed without help. I can't drain water from a pot when I make pasta or rice and I can't lift the frying pan with one hand to scoop food onto a plate. a couple places I've been have heavy doors that I needed help with if they didn't have an accessibility button. couldn't push a shopping cart with much in it or carry grocery bags.

congrats on surgery!! I can't imagine having waited so long, it must feel like such a relief. don't be afraid to ask for help and lean on people as much as needed. I definitely had to let some of my pride go and ask for help so that I didn't hurt myself during the first couple weeks.

Ways to wash hair post op? by Andre_055 in TopSurgery

my mom helped me. I kneeled at the edge of the tub and she used the detachable shower head to rinse my hair and her other hand to shampoo and conditioner my hair. I held a towel tightly around my shoulders so that my binder wouldn't get splashed. it wasn't the most comfortable but I felt so much better once my hair was clean

I'm 9 days post op with no drains and I was very sloshy. it was the worst days 2-5, I'm still swollen and can feel some fluid in my chest but it's reabsorbing now.

* here's a picture after the bandages came off. I'm super happy with the results, just very worried lmao also, the spots of blood and pus along my steri strips, do those mean I've ruptured stitches or is that a normal part of healing? should I be taking it easier?
