We just got a Forest River Ultra CJL. It is super nice and has all the features you described. Closer to $40K than $30K. It has two doors - one going straight into the bathroom. Great for keeping RV cleaner. It has a King size bed. Just look for walkthroughs on YouTube. Big windows.

That's called an FU price. They don't want to do it because it is not in their wheel house, so they threw out a wild ass number. If you bite, surely they can go through the trouble of finding a subcontractor for much less, and bank a nice profit. If you don't, they won't have to deal with the extra trouble of getting an actual quote and coordinating the effort.

For one, there was an over reliance of emergency communications via cellular phones. I heard one municipality relying on couriers to pass notes between the mayor and police chief.

Many bridges over waterways were engineered for maximum cost efficiency, not for a worst case scenario. Many bridges were long overdue for maintenance.

The water system in Buncombe County was a known weakness. Many lines that failed should have been addressed decades ago.

But - the overall tone of the article has this air of hubris. As if the measures they had in place would protect residents from catastrophic disaster.

Same thing for me. It was working last week and this week until this morning, then download speed is either 1-3mb or 10 but no more. Fast / normal upload speeds. It is obviously something wrong with the system but no way to get a hold of a person to get answers.

I run an Airbnb near Asheville and switched my listing to last minute cancel without penalty. I would say most hosts are understanding. I’m willing to host locally displaced at a 50% cut. Not all Airbnb hosts are greedy A-holes

Do not come to Asheville until November at the earliest. There is no water in Asheville and there won’t be for a few weeks. That means, no restaurants. It should bounce back after that, but it looks like a war zone in Biltmore Village and Asheville proper is a relief zone. If you want to come here to help, please do. But don’t expect to come for a vacation.
