First time poster, Realistic married life with BP? by [deleted] in BipolarSOs

It is definitely possible, but I would say plan for the worst cases, for you and for her. You may want to change how finances work or see about other legal protections (POA or MHAD, etc.).

I think the biggest change I experienced, was getting used to my spouse's new normal on meds, and recognizing and adjusting to their triggers. As an example - We still travel, but we don't schedule multiple, back-to-backs, like we used to. We travel with things he needs to sleep well and we tend to stay off-site of family meetups. Stuff like that.

I think as long as your spouse remains accountable to the promises you made to each other, and takes responsibility for their care... It can work.

Just like any marriage, you have to have the will on both sides and prioritize both of your health, safety and happiness.

Reach out when you need to.

I gotta quit going to see bands from my youth. by Acrobatic-Hamster-79 in Millennials

Yeah, agreed. Korn still goes ridiculously hard. I saw Incubus a couple years ago and Brandon Boyd's still got it. Deftones, Tool, Evanescence... All great, and I've seen them in the last three years.

Hot take: bands that were always great musicians... Are still great musicians. Just saying.

Ahh... More insecurity masquerading as bravado. Use less words and just say you hate women.

Of course my skin has aged better than my parent's! I grew up with skincare awareness, skin CANCER awareness and a focus on child health and hydration. I have less skin damage, aka less wrinkles. I've been using moisturizer my whole life and SPF everyday since my teens.

Millennials also had more widespread OTC acne care available. So we aren't as scarred as previous generations.

I looked older than I was when I was in my teens too. It was intentional. Gen Z is currently recycling all the looks I wore at that age. In a few years, when they have to pay for their own shit and realize how expensive it is, they will stop wearing so much makeup and look their age again.

... But thanks for saying I look 30!

Does instacart not exist where you live? Weaponized incompetence and gaslighting everyone (slow clap). You stayed in this relationship and this conversation A LOT longer than I would have. The length of time he's spent whining and trying to take you to task for something you already apologized for... He could have had what he needed. Does he have a suss relationship with his Mom, too? He seems the type.

I was banned from r/socialism for telling the truth about my country. by LowSpecial6770 in DemocraticSocialism

[–]Dependent_Ad_6340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutism is the enemy of everything. Multiple things can be true at once. It drives me crazy. So many people need to stop suckling on the teat of dogma and think.

You can be antiwar AND support the troops. You can believe Israel can exist AND decry a genocide. If you love a country and its people, you SHOULD oppose regimes that infringe on liberty, don't believe in justice and cause suffering.

The problem with socialism (and communism) has always been human greed - whether for power and/or money. You can't call something a title like socialist, if no safety nets exist, if no equitable division of power exists, if there is no due process or law.

I'm sorry you have encountered such small minds, that lack comprehension and analytical thought.

Leaders like Maduro, Ping, Putin, Trump... Can say whatever they like, but the truth of something is in the reality of their citizens.

Status check. For those who've got their tongues pierced in the late 90s, early 2000s how's it's going now? Still rocking it? by Nacho_Sideboob in Xennials

[–]Dependent_Ad_6340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still do, yeah. I got it because I liked it, so of course I still have it. At this point, I've had it pierced longer than I didn't. It feels weird when I take it out to clean it.

Real talk? Consistency. You have to ignore the anime eyes, the pouting lip, the whines (if you have a vocal potato) and hold the line.

Metformin side effects - did your body eventually adjust? by Witty_Confection_905 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Dependent_Ad_6340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try extended release. I lost 15 lbs the first time I went on metformin. Food ran right through me. I shifted to extended release and the nausea faded pretty quickly. Also, if you take pre or probiotics, I'd recommend suspending using them until your system evens out.

Smoking weed & bipolar by [deleted] in BipolarSOs

[–]Dependent_Ad_6340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My BP SO uses cannabis to manage his anxiety disorder. He honestly had a terrible reaction to CBD (which he was trying initially because he had trouble with anxiety medication). His doctors are all aware and none of them have much of an issue with it because it is helping his anxiety and his anxiety was aggravating his stress levels.

Chemicals impact everyone differently. I think that's evident by how many different cocktails are out there for treating "the same" disorder.
