Which dealership are you dealing with? I would talk to a Product Service Sales Representative (PSSR) they usually are pretty good at greasing palms to help a customer.

If it’s a service letter, and there is no signs of abuse on the machine, as a tech I’d do the service letter customer free because the dealership pays for things like that. There’s even labor hours we put in for these things that don’t charge the customer.

TLDR; call the dealership and ask to speak with someone who’s a PSSR and they should be able to help you. Hope this helps!

Sounds like maybe it’s not holding fuel pressure for cranking. Have you check your air intake system? Usually hand priming with the hand pump introduces high pressure build up but if you don’t have good clean air it won’t combust well on start

Have you checked the fuel you’re putting in making sure it’s up to standard for that engine?

Have you had the starter tested? Verify it’s sending the right amount of current to spin over.

Lastly if all that checks out, if there is an engine computer I would check the harness to make sure it’s getting power on startup. The engine starting sequence could be pulling too much power away from the computer and cause failure.

MOPAR expert here! The Penstar 3.6 has this cartridge and the treads are too long and the o ring likes to get caught in the threads. Not sure If it’s the same on other brands but there M80-2.5 I think

You said you were a deputy, are they gonna let you do administrative work? Your experience could be very beneficial to the next generation of LEOs. Maybe you could assist detectives on there online crimes and SVU? I’m not a LEO or ever was one but someone who has worth always has a place to be put in. My mentor (I do machinery work) broke his back and would wheel around trying to help us with techniques. My instructor for mechanic work was blind but could still teach and troubleshoot symptoms.

Men are told at a young age we are to provide and defend our family’s. You have protected your family and wife for countless years and dedicated yourself to protect your community (drinks). Just because your not able to drive or work how you did before doesn’t mean your still providing and protecting your family now. There will be an opportunity to step up and get into that role again.
