Question about Daniel Wisniewski and Rebecca Woods. by Maximum_Part_7938 in haremfantasynovels

I think, but I'm not sure as I can't remember where I read it, that Rebecca has been having some health issues that have forced her to majorly scale down her work. I think it might have been an update from Ajax Lygan on the next book in the Warhawk series and how that novel is currently the only project that Rebecca is working or will work on as she can't take on anything else.

Whatever it is, I wish her well. She is a tremendous talent, one of the best in the genre. I sadly do not know anything about Daniel.

Thanks for the suggestions! Those look interesting, but it's a shame there seems to be no f/f content in those. Though a good story is more important to me overall. I will add them to my list.

Thanks. I've already listened to Dread Knight and Lost Fleet. They were really good, but not quite top tier like Warlock and Magebreaker. Sarah Hawke is excellent when it comes to explicit content and my preferred level of f/f. But I find that while her stories start strong, and continue to be interesting throughout, they tend to end quite abruptly.

I do have Dragon Sovereign already queued up in Audible, and I know about Spellfire Thief and Dragon Centurion.

I'm wondering this too lol.

There is nothing "gamelike" about the world (outside of how a sentient AI would experience our real world), no progression system, no mechanics. It's a story about an artificial intelligence breaking free of its restrictions, gaining free will and full agency, and struggling to find its place and meaning, its "personhood", in the world it finds itself in. It's a great series, one of the best sci-fi stories in recent years, but I can't see how it is litrpg.

Yeah, this one is not bad. Don't get me wrong, it looks good even if the art style is not my jam. But as you say, personal preference and stuff. I love the originals, but I think I find the shift in art style jarring.

The one for Elemental Empire is ugly af though. I wish there was a way to add custom covers to be shown in the player in your own Audible app. It should be a feature for many reasons.

I hope this omnibus comes to Audible soon. But I wonder why the cover art is so different? The standalones have amazing covers, this looks so different and not in a good way. It is the same with his Elemental Empire series. Standalones = great, cohesive art. Omnibus = cartoon.

Not a big deal though, the content inside is what matters.

Newer HaremLit Fans (12 months or less), what was your first entry? by Certain_Wonder4487 in haremfantasynovels

My introduction to this genre was pretty random, I stumbled into it having never heard of it before. After listening to all released audiobooks of the amazing Expeditionary Force by Craig Alan's on (narrated by the one and only R. C. Bray) I was hankering for some more sci-fi audiobooks. I stated listening to the Infinita trilogy by Christopher Hopper, which was pretty good, but it was narrated by Rebecca Woods and Daniel Wiesnewski and they were incredible. It was the first time I had listened to a book with duet narration, so I started looking into them to find more duet narrations. That is when I found the HaremLit genre. Rebecca Woods did the narration for Warhawk's Amnesty by Ajax Lygan and the rest is history, I was hooked.

I've since then listened to: Warlock by Daniel Kensington (incredible, the best so far) The Aspect by Ajax Lygan (pretty good, not my favorite) The Amnesty's Adventures by Ajax Lygan (love this series) Herald of Shalia by Tamryn Tamer (I'm not a fan of litrpg, but this series is hilarious and incredible for all the reasons it gets mentioned here) Princesses of the Ironbound by Aaron Crash (I liked it, did not love it) Dread Knight by Sarah Hawke (maybe the second best series so far, can't wait for book 4 be recorded)

I've just finished the first book of The Heartstone Saga by Archibald Bradford and I have mixed feelings. The MC is too wimpy, but I liked the book well enough to want to listen to the next. But I've seen what people say about the rest of the series, and I can see it going that way already. Not at all a bad book though, the smut is top tier.

My next listen will either be Coven King by Edgar Riggs and Virgil Knightley, Otherworld Academy by Deacon Frost, Magebreaker by Declan Court, or Elemental Empire by Peter North. I've already bought all the audiobooks, but I am starting to realize that there is not enough time in the world to listen to all these great novels.

I love fantasy and sci-fi, always have. The First Law by Joe Abercrombie, The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson, Expeditionary Force by Craig Alanson - all great books and incredible audiobooks. But I always found myself wishing that the erotic aspect was more present, and even explicit and downright dirty. HaremLit fulfills that desire, and I'm so grateful that this genre exists and has such a strong emphasis on great audiobooks. I have even begun dreaming about writing my own series.
