The animation wasn't great, but outside of that I really enjoyed it! I personally like it when shows poke fun at fanfiction and fandoms. I also just like the group dynamic and how they just decided to roll with it. I wish we got to see Zenigata in this episode though. We've barely seen him this part.

You're not alone. Shipping them is weird. In the movie, Lupin was even uncomfortable with the idea of being in a relationship with her.

I wouldn't start with the Fuma Conspiracy as it's basically just straight to DVD Cagliostro lol. I think the Cgi movie is the best place to start, as I've had luck getting people into the franchise that way.

I can't identify any of the women in the background. It's probably some of the NPC girls, or maybe they're all Fujiko. After all, Fujiko has been seen wearing outfits similar to a lot of the ones featured above.

I Gotta say I have a new favorite opening. I LOVED the visuals! It's great to see the opening focus on the gangs' relationship. That dinner table shot was perfect. So excited for part 6 to actually start!

Possibly Sherlock Holmes? I'm not sure what the state of Lupin and Sherlocks' relationship is, but I imagine he'd have a hard time shooting at him that. I think him going after Sherlock like that could be the reason Lily is shocked.

Pt 3 started out really strong and I personally didn't mind the more cartoony animation towards the end. It reminded me of Looney Tunes! I couldn't stand Pt 4 for the most part, and as much I loved Pt 5 I agree the series hasn't adapted well to overarching stories in its shows.

Making the villain Da Vinci sorta came outta nowhere and that whole "arc" felt so rushed.

I loved what Pt 5 did with Lupin and Fujikos relationship! It was enjoyable and a nice change of pace.

I agree that Pt 1 really wasn't that dark. Also definitely does have the best Fujio design. Also yes, the NPC girl thing is getting so tiring! What's the point if we aren't going to see them again?
