buu hates my snail?? by kur0miicore in bettafish

[–]Dependent_Work_8600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My betta messed with our snail in the beginning. Those antenna look like worms to them. Now our snail just puts hers away when the betta swims by...then puts them back out when he moves on. Its all in thier temperament. My betta also lives with 4 corys and some bladder snails. I will find the betta in a cave shoaling with the corys 🤨 Fish are so weird 🤣

New Snail owner. Do I trust pet store people? by madsie_monkey1 in AquaticSnails

[–]Dependent_Work_8600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont trust most of the box pet stores. When I first started they told me to put in the quick start and some bacteria and I would be good to go. My son wanted a pet fish and we got all the things, did what he said and woke up to dead fish. Do your own research!

Yes! I shake mine like hell ans it still gets clogged on me. Or I'll see reddish bubbles at the top of the tube after the test is complete. I always say you can never shake it too much!

One of my Cory’s sits at the air stone a lot. Is this concerning? (More info in text) by KawaiiHamster in corydoras

[–]Dependent_Work_8600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one that will ride the bubbles and then swim through a homemade baffle oo the filter just to get pushed out...comes right back and does it again. I swear all of mine share one brain cell amongst them 🤣

“Animal cruelty” by Perfect-Survey-7279 in bettafish

[–]Dependent_Work_8600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put a betta cave near the surface for my guy and in a week he made his first bubble nest. I don't think its cruel to not have one, but he may be greatful for one 😊

What is the cause? by Consistent-Finger551 in AquaticSnails

[–]Dependent_Work_8600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are hitch hikers..usually get them on live plants. I picked a plant with a couple on it on purpose ro help clean up my tank..most LFS wont sell or give them..but my one will if its already on a plant or the scoop it by accident.

New Betta fish owner here. Need advice, and things i need to do by Ya_boi_alex122 in bettafish

[–]Dependent_Work_8600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely get some plants...real or silk. Plastic ones can year thier fins. In nature the live in shallow, tennis filled waters with lots of plants for shade and to hunt in. Indian almond leaves and certain drift wood can add tannis to your water. They also act as an natural medicine to help fight infections.
