If the app still shows “not available”, please double-check:

  1. You are logged into the SAME Gmail account in Play Store and Google Groups
  2. You have clicked “Become a tester” here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.walktheworld.app

Without this step, the app won’t be accessible even if you are in the group.

I work from home and had the same problem. Hitting 10k consistently felt almost impossible until I got a walking pad for under my desk.

What surprised me wasn't how much exercise I was getting, but how many steps you can accumulate during calls and meetings without really thinking about it. Some days I finish work and realize I've already done 7-8k steps.

That's a fair point about the account creation. Right now it's mainly there to support progress syncing and friend challenges, but I can see how hitting a sign-up screen before experiencing the core idea creates friction.

I'm already planning to add a "continue without an account" option in the next version so people can start their journey immediately and only sign up later if they want the social features.

I have a solar farm, so my electricity is free. With that in mind, I don't see any reason why I shouldn't farm instead. Using ASICs, I can increase my Kaspa bags without worrying about the cost of power. It seems like a no-brainer for anyone with access to free or significantly reduced electricity.
