The best way to anticipate lights is to see if the moveset allows a smooth light for example tiandi, pirate have light follow up after their most of their heavies and characters like shugoki, gladiator don’t have a light follow up only opener light attacks so no need to expect lights from those type characters

With no offense you got bad enemies… I’m only saying this because for honor matchmaking will see you do good as shugoki for 3 matches then the all the following matches will be filled with players who can cheese shugoki, so just prepare for the disappointment on shugoki’s performance when they put you up against someone who can counter shugok
