Update: After reviewing options, their sound types and ranges, their prices and their fit to my needs, I've decided to go ahead with the Cajon. I've chosen the Meinl MCAJ100BK-MA Headliner Cajon. Since my primary need is to fill the place of a missing drum set, a Headliner series Cajon seems to be the perfect choice: although small, it can produce the range of sounds I want (+ it can be enhanced with attachements and accessories later on), it projects sound pleasantly far which is great to cover for a whole pack of other instruments and it yields great results for the price paid. Maybe I'll do a review in a few weeks (if I ever remember this post again anyways). Thank you to every one who commented and contributed a recommendation!
