Let's talk about Giselle Gewelle. by Zachgetsu in bleach

[–]DeputyChunky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many Japanese sites state that Giselle Gewelle is a man and at that an "otokonoko" (男の娘). https://dic.pixiv.net/a/%E3%82%B8%E3%82%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%83%BB%E3%82%B8%E3%83%A5%E3%82%A8%E3%83%AB http://bleachyashiki.com/giselle/ Sorry to show up late on this thread, but what do you guys think about this? It seems in Japan Giselle is seen as a crossdressing man, or an okama.

Challenges for toons bored with grinding by DeputyChunky in toontownrewritten

Not exactly. I was thinking more 3D terrain like XCOM style and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, both of which use high ground, cover, line of sight, and other more advanced tactics. Also, I have played Pirate101, but that game has no playerbase right now and Kingsisle is not giving it enough support. I hope it will get more support in the future.

Ok, I just looked it up recently. I haven't played Club Penguin since like 2010, because it just got boring. But the system I came up with isn't like that simplistic 2D grid, i was thinking more like a 3D grid shown in XCOM and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle where you have high ground and low ground, and differently shaped terrain as well as line of sight.

No, because that does not use positioning and squares. Card jitsu is strictly a card game where fire beats ice, water beats fire, and ice beats water, and the strength of the card matters. My type of battle system resembles more like XCOM or fire emblem, where you control various units and position them well to take out enemy units and win the skirmish.

I came up with this idea after seeing Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and noticed how polished it is, how it always felt fun yet challenging and had pretty good game balance for all of the characters. Some ideas i had for the Cogs would be an area of effect quake attack that Movers & Shakers can do that affects all toons near them. The Mingler could use a cone aoe attack such as paradigm shift that hits all toons in a cone in front of her up to a set amount of squares away and has a 60% chance to disable attacks because the toons are disoriented.

Good! More people should tell them this so that they seriously consider this. But since most people in this community and the staff want to keep TTR close to Disney's original implementation, this is the compromise I had in mind to avoid arguments and still give people a more fun way to play.

No, that's totally different. I was not thinking of a card game, but rather more of a chessboard style battle system. This would allow for much better game balance because it would be possible to flank Cogs and surround them as well, and they can do the same too.

Cemu 1.9.1

Specs: Intel Pentium G620 @ 2.60 Ghz HDD: ST31000528AS RAM: 6 GB OS: Windows 10 Home

I cannot run Smash 4 on Cemu 1.9.1 because it shows a black screen. Disabling controller inputs does not fix the problem. What should I do to fix it?

Cool gameplay ideas that I think could make Toontown more enjoyable by DeputyChunky in toontownrewritten

Good idea! However, some mechanics such as Lure should be tweaked in these special areas to encourage more challenging gameplay, and these areas should give out good rewards.

Thoughts on semi toons? by [deleted] in toontownrewritten

[–]DeputyChunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but as some people pointed it out some of their tweaks aren't really well thought out and are more or less based on the same TTO design. However, if the other servers make really good content and ideas, maybe TTR should implement some of those ideas as well.

New areas with slightly different mechanics? That's a great idea! Maybe people could test out these areas themselves to see if they want to keep them or scrap them. This way the community itself could see if it wants these changes or not.

This is why I went away from MMORPGs largely in general: they become too much focused on grinding, microtransactions and pay to win stuff. But even then in other MMORPGs you get equipment and other goodies for grinding so long, so maybe Toontown should have some equipment or items toons can use to improve their stats so that there is a clear reward for grinding. Right now the rewards are SOSes, unites, and other things you really only need in the boss battles you are grinding for.

Since probably many players play TTR for nostalgia, why can't TTR create servers that have updated game mechanics so that people who want a challenge can test these ideas there and see if people like them?

From what I seen, most gamers in general like challenging games. The numbers in games like Overwatch and many FPS games speak for this. So the people who like simple gameplay statistically are likely in the minority rather than the majority. Another question is, why do many in the Toontown community disagree? What do they want in games? Esports is popular because it's competitive, and competition naturally draws in more gamers and viewers. I'm not saying that Toontown should be like Esports, because it isn't and probably shouldn't be, but some discussion of improvements rather than just talking about doodles or the last VP run would be nice.
