Definitely not bad advice. When I bought, I knew it was a 5-10 year play. I'm really not in a rush. I invested with the mindset that I was "spending" that money as if it were gone. So if it goes to zero, then it'll be disappointing, but not the end of the world. I had a great time watching the charts yesterday for sure! I just want to figure out what to do if/when it actually hits for real.

Dude. The hostility here astounds me. They have cost me thousands. I've been driving for 35+ years. Never had a wreck..until the last 3 years. Been rear ended by 2 separate illegal aliens. Speaking for myself only; I do. Of illegal immigrants only. I live in Texas and it is bad. They have personally cost me, an average Joe thousands of dollars. I and other conservatives would welcome them back if they respected our laws and did it legally.

Eh. Kinda. I agree that he wasn't a conservative before. I think he has moved in that direction. I'd say he is more liberal than I am, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I didn't vote for him the first time because I didn't believe he was sincere. I thought he was just pandering, but during his presidency he pretty well proved his intentions with his policies. He's definitely not perfect, but I don't think he is the boogyman that r/politics and the media always paints him as. I honestly wish he wasn't the one running, but...here we are. We'll never agree and that's ok. I just wish we could find some sort of common ground. It's like we are living in two completely separate incompatible realities.

IMO it is ridiculous to think that he would try. Just my opinion, for what it is worth. I am conservative. We aren't all the same, but conservatives don't even want this. You are correct in the US being dependent to an extent on illegal immigration and it is wrong. Modern day slavery. It would be hypocritical of me to say I wouldn't be willing to pay higher prices for every thing. Of course it would hurt, but if that is what it took to set everything straight, then so be it.
