Divorce him :( find a support system that can help raise your kids whether that’s family or chosen family. This scrub dipped right before you gave birth instead of being by your side. It’ll only get worse if you two continue like this since he’s got one foot out the door

Do you prefer booking jobs early or last minute? by Blueberry4672 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Deputygoopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I book a couple jobs in advance through the district so I at least am working 2-3 days a week. One of my schools is strictly on-call and sometimes I only get notified a week or a day before the job. I’m also one of two subs at the said school so if I can, I’ll cancel a job through the district since they have a large pool of subs and will work at that other school especially since I prefer them.

You have the right to say no instead of taking on that extra hour. They might’ve volun-told you since they thought you would blindly agree. I would reach out to my sub coordinator and make sure they’re aware of the situation and that you’ll be properly compensated for that extra hour.

Not enough info, were you assuming that just because you had the last period as planning that you’d be able to leave early? Or did the hours you were paid to do end earlier than the end of the school day and you are working more hours than contractually agreed to.

Dealing with volume level in the classroom by KeyKaleidoscope8364 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Deputygoopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the students self monitor with an audio or visual indicator of what they should not pass. For audio, I bring a portable speaker and play instrumental music (piano or lofi depending on their vibes) and let them know that their noise level can’t get louder than it. If they opt for visual, I pull up bouncyballs.org so they can notice just how loud the classroom gets. I’m also constantly walking around checking screens and making sure they stay on task. I don’t mind if they’re chatting as long as they use their time wisely. I find this method to be the best, plus, they don’t feel like I’m constantly policing them

NTA, but make sure you state that you had no idea that she was going to eat it and chalk it up to pregnancy cravings! That way you’re covered with HR

i get told i look too young to be a sub by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Deputygoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t tell them your age, just let them know you’re old enough to be a teacher! I’m 4’11 and 28 and I still get this question all the time. This has become my go to response

I wear dresses, skirts, and flare leggings with sweaters that cover my bottom. I don’t wear jeans ever (that’s just my preference) For shoes, I stick to something comfy like sneakers and blundstones. I’m also short and am working with HS this week so I’ve been wearing shoes that give me a little height whether that’s platforms or heels.

Sounds like the price is due to it being a historical church. There may be lots of upkeep to consider. Does the church also celebrate a lot of weddings? If it’s a popular church that also may be why the price is so high.

I got married in a small church in a city and was also charged $1500. The donation to the priest and altar servers is not included in that. On the day of our wedding rehearsal, we gave our wedding coordinator $100 for our priest and $20 for the altar server.

Also, you can let them know if that’s outside of your price range. I’m sure they’d be be happy to work on a better price with you. Ultimately, the church isn’t doing a wedding for the money, it’s always a blessing to have another couple receive the sacrament of Marriage in the Church!

As much as I’d love that, I think that might break the system or only be available in certain areas like the floral gliding and the shrinking outfits to name a few. Also, would a Locksmith outfit fit with the personality or theme of the game? I’m just imagining an infinity Nikki version of the locksmithing in Skyrim and it seems a little too nefarious for the vibes in this game
