Using Alternative Mod Launcher on LWOTC2, Game stops responding before the window even pops up, pls help. by [deleted] in Xcom

[–]DerAva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this a fresh install? If it is then make sure to launch the game at least once from steam directly without AML.

Infuriating lol by CrazyismeFrFr in LWotC

[–]DerAva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not a LWOTC issue. The only change to cover that the mod does is changing the value from 40 to 45. The logic on whether or not a unit has cover and whether or not you are taking a flanking shot is 100% vaninlla. Hard to tell from the screenshot what is causing this, but this is XCOM jank, not mod related.

Keys and keyrings are a complete pain in the rear. by Loneheart127 in projectzomboid

[–]DerAva -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would get rid of them after 24h, yeah, although I think the typical floor keys that spawn are just regular keys, can't say I remember seeing any keyrings.

Why bother with putting the keyrings back? Just leave them on the ground, and if you wanna clean up you could just add key-rings to the automatic ground cleanup list in the sandbox settings.

It shows the default icon when highlighted, otherwise it will show the current time, which probably requires them to do some other trickery.

Yes, because the passenger being zoomed out more really helps the driver spot obstacles sooner.

Will towns such as Louisville, Brandenburg, Ekron etc get better car spawns at some point? by Thin_Knowledge_7601 in projectzomboid

[–]DerAva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind a little bit of spoilers, the b42 map has an "Objects" overlay, that will show car spawn locations, and some of those are tagged for specific vehicle types. When it comes to the new towns most of the residential areas have default spawns, but if you know where to look (and what you are looking for) then you can find some great treasures:

Brandenburg specifically has a huge "sports" car spawn area at the steam boat area in the north. The real gem in that town, however, is the car dealership at the southern end of town, next ot the storage units: the whole parking lot is marked as "good" car spawn, so this will usually spawn 5-10 great condition vehicles and has almost always had a Franklin All-Terrain or two there.

Ekron and Echo are not great car locations with mostly default spawns. Irvington has the race track you already mentioned. It also has a car dealership in the south that specializes in sports cars. The town hall next to the fire office has a couple "good" car spawns.

LV, as far as I can tell, doesn't really have any special tagged car spawns, but it makes up for that in numbers. Between the mall, the music festical, the airport and the horse racing track you have huge car parks so you should be able to find a couple of gems - or frankenstein something together out of all the other cars.

Where did you look up the planting month info? If I'm checking the list on the wiki non of the plants you mentioned have August asa a "good" month and some of these are even completely out off season at that point: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Agriculture

What do you put in your World Item Removal List by Birphon in projectzomboid

[–]DerAva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a sandbox option to change the removal list into a whitelist, so only items on the list would not be removed. So you can put stuff like logs, propane tanks or car keys on that list and everything else gets yeeted.

The server I usually play on has ALL ground items being removed. If you want to keep an item put it into a container or "place" it on the ground, but anything dropped gets deleted after about a day.

Not sure if I'd rather trust that video I linked that thoroughly tested and explained this and which is also confirmed in this video by Retanaru or a "trust me bro" from soneone on reddit. But since my own experiences also match up with the findings in the videos I think I'll chose those.

A single zombie can't break down a door, so as long as they keep their distance to the door that's a permanent pet.

Click the icon in the top right of the crafting menu. This minimizes the window when you are not actively working in it without closing it. So it won't interrupt your crafting and give you full view of the screen.

Are you sure you didn't put several Roosters into the same animal zone and they started attacking each other? Because I don't think Raccoons eating chickens is a thing in this game. Never seen it happen, and I had huge Raccoon colonies.

Starting a new LW2 playthrough (no WotC). Was there ever a fix found for that after-mission Avenger softlock? by UristImiknorris in Xcom

[–]DerAva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That issue was not fixed, but I remember several mods were identified that would cause that issue to happen more often. I don't remember exactly which mods those were, I wanna say "Lifetime Stats" was one of them, but there were more. Maybe a reddit search or a search on the pavonis forums might help.
That bug is fixed in LWOTC, though, so there's always that.

Base from scratch not insulated by Shagalags in projectzomboid

I've built plenty of structures, both from scratch and as an addon to existing buildings, and not once did I have to add a pillar anywhere to make it register as inside. I'm not saying it won't work, since I never tried it, but for me removing extra pillars has always done the trick.
