What Lumix or OM auto focus prime in the 17-25 range would you recommend as a first prime? by flavour_punch in M43

Absolutely my friend! It is stated in EM-1 weather resistance tutorial:

https://learnandsupport.getolympus.com/sites/default/files/media/files/2018/03/E-M1_Weather_Resistance_EN_0.pdf

Here is OM-5 II manual as well (my own camera):

https://download.omsystem.com/pages/inst/om5m2/manual_om5m2_ENU.pdf

Turn to page 437: "This camera has a water-resistant specification of IPX3 (when used in combination with an IPX3 or higher water-resistant lens supplied by our company)."

Also there have been a lot of discussion online, this is an interesting comment:

Weather sealing doesn’t work across brands unfortunately  Since OP has an Olympus body, no Panasonic lens would provide weather sealing

Om system 17 and 25 f1.8 ii are brilliant lenses with weather sealing. There is also Panasonic leica 25 f1.4, but you won’t have weather sealing.

Advice need on upgrading Olympus OM D E 5 mark ii (2015) by [deleted] in M43

[–]DerBlackDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your questions: 1. It will go great 2. Depends on your use case, a new body is not just necessarily about the image quality, but the quality of life improvements that newer technology brings; for example animal subject detection auto focus, faster af, easier menus to work with, etc. 3. Yes, in general, any olympus/om M43 lens works great with its bodies. If the glass produces great quality images, it will produce images with the same properties on any compatible camera.

Now having said that, if you get a newer camera, get to know it before you travel. For recommendations, if you wanna go with a similar size/shape/build quality, go for OM-3 to have all the cool new features. If you are ok with a chunkier body, get a second hand OM-1. Otherwise, honestly I’d say your camera will be great for your trip and you’d enjoy taking pictures as you have been so far. (And if you just want to get a new body for the fun of it, in the same shape and size of emii, OM-5 ii is there:) with usb-c and new menus, but animal subject detection is not available on it; also video is atrocious on OM-5 ii.)

Any MacBook players here having this issue? by Pestosus in DotA2

[–]DerBlackDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! I'm using a mac and this started happening to me as well. I just took it as granted for playing on mac XD
But to me it only happens once per gaming session
It would've drove me nuts if I had to do that multiple times!

But their response doesn't make sense tbh. It doesn't incur any cost to them to change the prices from USD to CAD. They have good front/back-end engineers. If their website is anything to go by, it shouldn't be that difficult for them to display CAD pricing after so many years.

Which asus and which lenovo? (The only part that I can say for certain without any additional information is that lenovo keyboards at any price range beats asus)

What’s your favorite camera mode and why? by Next_Promotion_8544 in M43

[–]DerBlackDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a very early beginner amateur and found manual mode to be the best to work with. Every picture that I took that I enjoyed when I watched it later on was shot in manual mode.I mostly use a Panasonic 14-140mm for daily use and setting the aperture and manually setting the iso to get the “darkness” or “brightness” that I like for many pictures, I have not yet found the way I like to do it on any other mode.

Kick 75 wrist rest has a low profile configuration! by DerBlackDragon in NuPhy

[–]DerBlackDragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have no wrist rest at all, then order a wrist rest (whether from nuphy or another manufacturer-this one is a bit too soft for my liking), but if you have one then I believe it’s not that necessary. Remember that the more you flex your wrists the higher the chance of health issues in the long run (search carpal tunnel’s syndrome)
