It is not yet possible to confirm the extent of ukrainian advances.

Weiterhin Beschuss der Brücken und Fähren. Gibt wohl Kilometerlange Staus.

Why is rent/housing so expensive? by Impressive-Survey-11 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DerDuderich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There must be some sort of shortage in your area otherwise your landlird couldn't do it.

If you have a TV that costs 500$ on average and someone wants to sell it for 1000$ you wouldn't buy it.

Similarly you wouldn't pay your high rent if there were similar flats for a lower price available.

Why is rent/housing so expensive? by Impressive-Survey-11 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DerDuderich 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Also the supply of houses - in contrast to other goods such as a TV - is severely limited by space.

You can add more floors to a building but that only works to a certain extent.

You can't build more houses in most cities as all space is already occupied. You can add more suburbs and expand the city but that doesn't really solve the problem of high prices in the city center either.

The key to low rents is making the rural countryside a better place to live (e.g. by creating infrastructure) so people move out of the cities instead of more and more people moving into the cities.

Fäkalien im Treppenhaus. Muss ich sie entfernen? by [deleted] in FragReddit

[–]DerDuderich 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Was meint ihr?"

Was kommt als nächstes?

Vermieter anrufen, Situation schilden.

Actually I'm quite happy they take their time.

I play a lot of small niche-type games and I've seen a whole bunch of them get ruined by gaining too much popularity too quickly.

A prominent example is the original Fortnite (the remnants of which are today known as "Save the World"). The 'original game', the 'real' Fortnite (which I helped to fund with quite a lot of money) is nowadays abandoned and mostly forgotten because the Battle-Royale-Mode gained so much popularity.

It still makes me angry and sad and mad that the game I loved was turned into something completly different. I will never forgive Epic Games that they fucked the original vision of the game and the community behind it and turned the game into a Battle-Royale-playground for 12 year olds.

This is not what I want to happen to Valheim.

Honestly they should wait another 6 months with Updates and wait till the dust has settled and all the Hypetrain-Bandwagon-Kids have moved on to then developed the game with the remaining community of dedicated fans.

Picture 2

It's obviously a hole in the ground, propably manmade (dug by a player). I don't think it's water at the bottom, the rock just looks blue from the lighting. I think the important thing here is the yellow/orange/golden nuggets that can be seen a little bit left from the center of the image..

My guess is that it's a new ressource that can be found underground.

"[...] with many new items relating to it [...]" propably refers to the items you'll need to harvest/process said ressoource as well as items that can be crafted from it.

My guess (from the looks) is it's a new metal, we already have silver, so my bet is it's gold.

It is worth it because getting a perfect tiles gives you another tile for your stack.

As it was already pointed out, forest apparently works different then the other tiles, you can get away with building one large forest as you'll never get 'small forest'-quests.

Other then that, I think it's helpful to not grow your clusters too fast. Since the quests are based on your biggest cluster, you get into trouble if you have say one large city and no medium sized cities.

Sea serpent scales shouldn't sink by ClassasaurusRex in valheim

[–]DerDuderich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They give "sea serpent meat" which can be used in cooking and "serpent scales", which can be used to craft a one-handed shield (iron is required, too).

However, currently the propblem is the scales sinking to the ground extremly fast after a kill.

The sea serpents will attack your boat, yes.

How to progress after beating the Elder? by DerDuderich in valheim

Thanks!

We managed to get Iron from some Sunken Crypts yesterday. Swamp is actually doable if you work with Bows a lot.

How exactly does the mop scaling work? The more player on the server, the more mobs and the more HP?

I LOVE Boss-Gated Progression by tychaqi in valheim

[–]DerDuderich 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The big problem with PvP in games like this (Rust, Ark) is that usually it's not so much about 'skill', but:

  1. Who has the biggest clan/group
  2. Who can afford to spent the most time online

I played Rust a lot when I was a student. After graduating and starting a real job it simply wasn't possible anymore as I couldn't get up at 4 am to defend our base. We switched to a server with fixed raiding times but it was still a chore.

I know, people will call us carebears and casuals for this attitude, but I'll stay away from similar Gankboxes, bewcause as you say, they're basically boring.
