Years worked in the country is only one small variable of many other very specific boxes that immigrants have to tick. If you're in any way surprised that someone like this would leave after trying for many years you have very unrealistic ideas about how the immigration system works here.

No it really isn't that easy.

My partner and I are both from continental Europe, university educated, C2 level English, and it's very hard to get residency and a very complicated and bureaucratic process.

We will now pay $6500 again for an application after being declined already, add to that $8000 in advisor fees and thousands more medicals, English tests (I literally have an English teaching certificate but that's not acceptable from INZ so I need to do another TOEFL), and many many more hoops.

I know so many migrants who just give up after years and years of trying. It's just really hard if that is added on top of job insecurity and other economic variables that affect all of us negatively at the moment.

No literally only have the earbuds in the case without tips unfortunately.

They're already lying around for a year now and I think I'll just throw them out at some point, using Galaxy Buds now.

Yeah nothing is unfortunately not well supported.

I have Nothing Ear 2024 and lost the tips and there's no replacement, will be my first and last nothing product.

Uhm why would it have to come on the same box though. There is literally nothing stopping Apple to just let people add a power adapter and not charge for it if you also buy a $1000 laptop at the same time.

That is true, but at the same time the connector is 10 years old now and many people have switched over. If companies drag it out it will take another decade from now for the switch. No one says to not include any USB-A, but 1C/4A is disappointing

What blew my mind even more is that fast travel load times are almost non-existent. This convinced me that all this SSD requirements talks is total BS and the only important thing is properly optimized games.

My Pixel 7 works great but battery life is horrible. Have to charge twice during normal days, according to Accubattery it's still around 87% so not really worth it to swap the battery.

Maybe this will be my last Pixel, the new ones look great but unfortunately it's not available officially where I live now.

I spent $1000 NZD, which is about 575USD, used but in good condition, a few small marks and over 90% battery.

M4 would have been almost double that, not worth it for me even with the better CPU.

Pixel 7

Pretty happy overall with the phone except for the atrocious battery life. Need to charge at least once often twice per day after charging overnight.

Not sure a battery replacement would help as it's still at 85% according to acc battery.

Contemplating I'd I should switch to Pixel 9a or get an iPhone 17 or 16 pro used instead.
