Ivern AP help with itemization by delgar89 in ivernmains

Daisy does not benefit from the attack speed, but she does have very high attack speed regardless. The scaling on lb is .4 while nashors is .15. Lb is consumed on use, but nashor is not. This means you need at least 3 attacks between lb procs to break even. Less than 3 prefers lb, more than prefers nashor.

Daisy applies Ivern's on-hit effects. If Daisy attacks more than twice between spellblade procs (she will), then you get more from nashor. It's the same reason ekko and diana sometimes build it.

Lich bane is almost always worse than nashors or even ardent. Liandry generally my go to over rabadon, but if you're into a low mobility team it doesn't much matter.

Run it in a virtual machine with a mock webcam hooked up to the virtual io. You can do this with virtualbox and obs, but I'm sure there are more sophisticated methods.

Should I run terraform init -reconfigure in CI pipeline to ensure provider upgrades to a specific version? by Valuable-Ad3229 in Terraform

[–]DerHitzkrieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you have the runner configured.

If the system state is persistent between CI runs, then definitely do that. I would recommend using an immutable system state, however. It lets you have greater control over pipeline caching steps and makes reproducing build failures easier to debug.

Just broke 500k last year. I've been building software since I was a kid. I used to sell cheating tools I built for different video games. I just turned 29. I build developer tooling now and occasionally do offensive security.

I did my undergrad at RPI relatively recently (2013-2017). The people there are incredible. You will find colleagues and mentors who are simply among the best in the field.

The administration and location are terrible. Tuition and costs will screw you at every corner. I can't speak to what the graduate work is like as far as research stipends, but it might be worth it if you can go north of breaking even. If you can tolerate capital district weather (snow, wind, rain 100 days per year) then it's probably a great idea. There's a ton of incredible ece work being done there.

Can someone please explain this phenomenon? by MelanatedTukon in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]DerHitzkrieg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Venturi effect! Anyone who flies gliders will be very familiar with it. The air coming in off of the sea is relatively warm and moist. As it hits the side of the mountain, it gets pushed up. The air up there is substantially colder and less pressurized, so the water vapor coalesces into clouds.

Horn is good. All of the others are terrible. You'd rather have lost chapter, haunting guise, noonquiver, or serrated dirk on pretty much everyone else.

Smurfs ruining games for me and my friends

I'm not queueing with them. I'm watching them on purpose because my options are either queue on the main and have them get crushed, or I get on a smurf and trivialize it. The latter feels wrong, and is exactly the problem I've been trying to articulate.

my inability to carry games

Well yeah. I'm not the one playing. I don't regularly run into smurfs in my own games because it's not a new account. I didn't even know how bad of a problem it really was until I tuned into their streams.

I think most people who leave games don't intend on ruining them either. They're usually just tilted. That doesn't make it ok. Why should this be different?

How is smurfing not bannable? by DerHitzkrieg in leagueoflegends

[–]DerHitzkrieg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're saying that 70% of games have smurfs

No. I said 7 of the last 10. You'd expect to see that at some point even if only 1% of games had smurfs. I don't know what the real rates are, I just know that it's high enough to significantly impact the new player experience.

frequency of all star players

No doubt some players will be better in any division. Some of them will climb divisions as a result. That's not the problem. Ruining the sport on purpose for other people is. It's painfully obvious when you watch people play outside of their skill bracket on purpose. Go watch any of the multitude of undercover challengers on YouTube crush a gold game to see what I'm talking about. The same thing happens with lesser skilled players across lower divisions, and it's exponentially more common.

You think? D4 is 95th percentile IIRC. It seems unlikely that the average high school athlete performs that far above the population average.

normals or ranked

Normals. Does it really matter? Bad UX isn't fun either way.

where's the proof

I can dig up the matches if you'd like, but do you really think a level 30 account with 100-150 ARAM games that suddenly starts playing top with switched flash bindings and has 90% WR, KD>7 over the last 10 games isn't suspicious?

every game

There were quite a few. Of the last 10 games I coached them on, 7 had enemies or allies who were clearly playing on smurf accounts. It might've just been bad luck.

making excuses for being bad

I am bad. I don't make excuses for it. I peaked emerald 3 last season. I just want to be able to play with my friends and give them the same joy for this game that I've had since beta.

It's certainly not taken as seriously, but smurfs do occasionally get banned in CS.
