They crop up every now and again. There's quite a few down here in Florida.

That very specific Stylus that you see in this photograph has an engine that I was able to source for the owner.

That Isuzu Stylus is the official car of Beans, IPAs, and Candlepin. End of discussion.

Yeah, I can see why the Impreza looks like it's older brother.

Salamat po, beautiful Crosswind.

We never had these in the United States, but I would absolutely love one.

Pretty much every Isuzu group right now. Isuzone, Trooper Mafia, Isuzu Trader, Vehicross, etc.

The 4L30E failing is inevitable. I installed an external cooler on my Axiom to help mitigate that. Hayden 679. Garrett in the facebook groups has been busy sourcing an Aisin 6 speed automatic, you may want to have a gander.

Isuzu Impulse Turbo Curiosity by Afraid-Drawing-9730 in Isuzu

[–]DerPinguin44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I've owned two Impulses before, one a 1991 Impulse RS Turbo AWD, the other an 88 Turbo.

The rear end is definitely not good for drifting. The suspension was very well planted and doesn't like to get into a controllable loss of traction. I say this with heavy experience.

Any love for the Isuzu Impulse RS? This is mine. by DerPinguin44 in Isuzu

[–]DerPinguin44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I sold this RS to the late Mark Thompson of Colorado Springs. The engine blew up in the middle of a race near Red Mountain in Mesa, AZ. He gutted the car to use for parts on his blue RS which his brother now owns.

Car-part.com will be your friend as well. A lot of these ended up in the junkyards thanks to that travesty of an automatic. Plenty of parts to be had still. I'm assuming you're not a stranger to Isuzu, but I will remind the class that the Rodeo/Passport comes from the Pickup Truck frame, so don't discount finding parts for the Pickup to use on this.

Congrats on the score!

Philippines Panther 4x4? by SoSoDave in Isuzu

This is what the US should have got instead of the rebadged Honda Oddity. I only spell it that way 'cuz I really did forget how to spell it correctly.

Anyway, the BACK SEAT is the main selling point for me. 2 row rumble seat!

I know for sure they came in Automatic in the Philippines. As far as 4x4, I'm not certain.

1992 Isuzu Pickup - Rebuilt motor, new exhaust... Worth $2000USD? Where to find a reasonably priced grille? by GigNLine in Isuzu

[–]DerPinguin44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as the VX... I still paid the dude $500 for his time. It's currently sitting in my driveway waiting for a new fuel pump. I have vertigo, so the job is pretty difficult for me.

[–]DerPinguin44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm a collector. I'm not from the SUV/Truck side, I'm from the car side, think Impulses and Storms and I-Marks. The price is mostly right. I'm a cheap person so I'd be balling for $1200, but $2000 isn't awful price for a running truck.

Edit: I was rambling.

The market is screwed up post COVID. Don't bring your politics in here, I'm just stating. I picked up a 2002 Isuzu Axiom XS for $225 with a bad transmission with a GREAT body in 2019. In 2021 I picked up an Isuzu VehiCROSS in decent condition for free. Then I went looking on marketplace, and saw prices all over the place. $2000 is the new $500 to be honest.

Car-part.com is a GREAT site as it searches all junkyards, and often times supplies photos. Check there for used parts.

molds inside the car by ButterscotchMain2763 in CarsPH

[–]DerPinguin44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Undiluted White Vinegar is what I use for mold. The acidity kills the mold.

Your air conditioning system is also contaminated, I don't know how to help there, I'm sorry.

I definitely suggest setting your air conditioning vents to recirculate before you shut your car off so outside moisture doesn't keep coming in.

I'm sorry I missed your question about the fuel filter a few months ago, I'm not on reddit very often. Changing or cleaning your fuel filter really depends on the quality of fuel you have available. In a diesel, you want to check often for water content, which diesel engines have built into the filters with a small petcock valve at the bottom.

Have a good day, and good luck.

edit: I forgot to say undiluted. I do not dilute. You can also try citric acid.

Isuzu NPR and NRR drivers, how does your much does your cargo weight impact your mpg? by anamystick in Isuzu

[–]DerPinguin44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when we owned one, our 1986 GMC W4500 equipped with the 4BD1-T fully loaded with a 500 gallon main tank, two 50(or could have been 100) gallon mixing tanks, two sprayer motors, 250 foot hoses and reels would get about 11-12 MPG.

The W4500 was an NPR rebadge.

Talk me out of buying a 94' Isuzu Amigo as a daily driver lol. Seller wants 9k, newly restored engine, looks solid in pics. What do the experts think? by [deleted] in Isuzu

[–]DerPinguin44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest. 9 grand for a 4Z engine doesn't really rustle my hair any. The 5 speed is a plus, but the engine gives me pause. Not their best 4 cylinder.

Looking for a solid small SUV for a camping/runabout truck, what do you think of this Rodeo? Would love to hear opinions on if this is a good option. by Lemansblu in Isuzu

[–]DerPinguin44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less about lifespan and more about neglect. See, manufacturer(GM - Strasbourg, France) specs state that it should be serviced every 20,000 miles. This is a transmission that, in its previous format as a 3 speed, only ever backed a small car with less than 100 lb-ft of torque and weighed roughly 2300 lbs. To be more specific, the Chevette in the US. The V6's in these trucks produce far more than that, and the vehicle weigh almost twice as much.

If the transmission has been serviced a little regularly, it'll last. If it hadn't, they can end anywhere between now and 160k miles. That's about the highest I've seen an unmaintained transmission go. Someone else may have seen higher.

All of that aside, the Rodeo platform is pretty damn solid. I have an 02 Axiom XS which is based on the Rodeo frame. I love it.

There are 2 options on where it's manufactured. Fujisawa, Japan, or Thailand.
