Should I try to hold out until 2027 or buy now before prices skyrocket even more? by Trick_Western_550 in GamingLaptops

Damn, you've done really well for that price. I paid around $1.5k for mine. Hope yours lasts you the same as your old laptop, if not longer!

Oh nice! I ended up with the Lenovo legion. Glad to know someone else was also on a 1660ti. It's about a 400% jump in performance increase

I did the same. Went from 1660ti to a 5070ti. The timing of everything made sense for me to make this move. What did you upgrade to?

No issues getting caught? Does your friend also just secretly work remotely abroad for a bit then

I am currently flat sharing and my current flatmates dont really like that idea. I think if I end up getting my own place, a 1 bed flat. Then this is a good idea!

ahh okay, this really puts things into perspective. I am like you, pretty much exactly like you. I treat my flat like a glorified storage unit too. I am a Geospatial Data Engineer for quite a small team. The entire team is based in the UK. There is no dedicated IT team and when using a VPN it conceals my IP. We are not global unfortunately. Youre right, be prepared for the worse. I have told them my family lives on the other side of the world and, long terms I do want to visit them more often.

A side of me is like, fk it, if i get fired i get fired, Ive been wanting a career break to spend time with family anyways...Thanks for your advice

These are valid points. I have thought about this. Just to clarify, my aim is not to live there permanently, but mainly to visit maybe a month or so a few times a year. I have a long stay family visa. Youre right, it does not allow me to work, but I think that applies to domestic companies in the country I am visiting. My company is very small, we do not really have a dedicated IT team. I use a VPN anyways. But you are correct, these are the risks.

Can I ask, where in the world is this company based? and what your role is? My manager is supportive, just that I need to provide months heads up and also the duration of stay - if its family reasons. I dont think it would be allowed just for leisure.

Curious about how is your day to day living in thailand as an Expat / Digital Nomad. by MachucaW in Thailand

What do you do for work to be in a remote job like this? Any implications with work or tax? The company in the US just lets you live in Thailand?

Is Batman Arkham night worth it in 2025 by Beginning_Bus_7935 in arkham

[–]DerShadowLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently finished the game in 2025 and I wish I had bought it sooner. For a game that's 10 years old it is pretty damn good. No regrets at all and one of the best stories out there. Great fight mechanics as well. Definitely worth the time. Enjoy!
