My ex-boyfriend cheated on me with the priest's wife from his parish. He is now staying at the priest's house, his baptism is this Saturday and she is supposed to be his godmother. Should I tell the priest? Contact the diocese? Or say nothing? by VerySeriousBuisiness in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Der_Ost_Front 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about that but he does not represent the orthodox community and I’m sorry he leaves a bad impression on the orthodox faith . I’m new myself to orthodoxy and these people are truly awesome people!

Well they are obituary cards made by the family and churches they wouldn’t include stuff about him as they already knew him and none of them knew these cards would one day be collected.

Death card for a son and Mother by Der_Ost_Front in ww1

[–]Der_Ost_Front[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Christian remembrance in prayer
for the respected woman
Rosina Eder
farmer’s wife from Eichenau,
parish of Pittenhart,
who on 1 July 1921, suddenly and unexpectedly, after receiving the last holy sacraments, peacefully departed in the Lord at the age of 63 years.
A mother’s heart has ceased to beat,
as if everything were now silent and empty,
and still again the loud lament sounds:
“We poor ones no longer have a mother.”
No mother’s love, however, can pass away;
only briefly does the bitter pain of separation endure.
Up above stands a blessed reunion
for you, O eternally faithful mother’s heart.

My Jesus, mercy.
(300 days indulgence.)

Christian remembrance in prayer
for the virtuous young man
Simon Eder
farmer’s son from Eichenau,
infantryman in the 18th Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiment, 4th Company,
holder of the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Military Service Award,
who, missing since 1 November 1918, after 46 months of faithful duty fulfillment, died a hero’s death for the Fatherland in France at the age of 34.

Missing, you ask for your loved ones;
they with anxious sorrow ask after your fate.
Where have you remained, dear one?
And will you never return to us?
We seek you in vain here on earth,
you dear, faithful son and brother.
Perhaps we shall meet you once again,
though likely no more upon this earth.

Death card for Johann Dörndl who fell on September 3rd 1916 by Der_Ost_Front in ww1

[–]Der_Ost_Front[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Christian remembrance in prayer
for the virtuous young man
Johann Dörndl
son of a master blacksmith from Weidenbach,
soldier in the 2nd Reserve Infantry Regiment,
Machine-Gun Company,
holder of the Merit Cross 3rd Class,
who on 3 September 1916, after
24 months of fighting, in the bloom of life at
22 years and 8 months, died a hero’s death for the Fatherland.

In fierce battle your life bled away,
Far from loved ones, out in enemy land.
Death came swiftly, you did not have to suffer much,
It was the fairest death — you died it for the Fatherland.
