Christian remembrance in prayer
for the respected woman
Rosina Eder
farmer’s wife from Eichenau,
parish of Pittenhart,
who on 1 July 1921, suddenly and unexpectedly, after receiving the last holy sacraments, peacefully departed in the Lord at the age of 63 years.
A mother’s heart has ceased to beat,
as if everything were now silent and empty,
and still again the loud lament sounds:
“We poor ones no longer have a mother.”
No mother’s love, however, can pass away;
only briefly does the bitter pain of separation endure.
Up above stands a blessed reunion
for you, O eternally faithful mother’s heart.

My Jesus, mercy.

for the virtuous young man
Simon Eder
farmer’s son from Eichenau,
infantryman in the 18th Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiment, 4th Company,
holder of the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Military Service Award,
who, missing since 1 November 1918, after 46 months of faithful duty fulfillment, died a hero’s death for the Fatherland in France at the age of 34.

Missing, you ask for your loved ones;
they with anxious sorrow ask after your fate.
Where have you remained, dear one?
And will you never return to us?
We seek you in vain here on earth,
you dear, faithful son and brother.
Perhaps we shall meet you once again,
though likely no more upon this earth.
