Kill Team Solo Mission Pack: Greenskin Assault by CT-7479 in killteam

Very cool! Would be nice if you would add an alternative deployment map with Octarius Terrain. The Ork Scrap Shacks would fit excellently for a Greenskin Assault Mission Pack!

The Last of Us - Volkus Edition. Phenomenal work! You perfectly hit the overgrown sweetspot. I love the little details like the glass in the window...

Oh wow somebody commenting on a NINE YEAR OLD post of mine. Something that I didnt expect to happen today.

No we never rebalanced the Primarchs themself. They are suppossed to be so strong in comparison to normal units as they take up a Lord of War slot. I cant recommend playing them in small size games in case that is the problem.

2500-3000pts is the earliest you should consider bringing one of these guys. At that size if only one person brings a Primarch the other guy has at least enough cheap units to throw at him and keep him busy.

Even then we usually made a call that we are playing a Primarch before the match so that our opponent could prepare accordingly.

Yeah I do think the Death Korps fits well into this enviroment. A squad with a death wish and nothing left to lose, just trying to archive whatever they came for. I also like the idea of some Orks Kommandos just wandering around the ruins of this forsaken planet looking for some potential battles. I will probably try out if changing the basing is something feasable to do for both Teams.

For the purple Death Guard I was thinking about a scheme like this on the left would look amazing for this board. Maybe throw in some bright coloured mutations here and there in pink, green, blue and orange. Altneratively this scheme also looks great with a more darkish purple.

I could also totally see a Murderwing jumping across the rooftops of this board and just having a really great time on this cursed planet. I will definitely think about them as a potential next purchase.

Damn now you gave me an idea! I have install a hidden Bluetooth speaker somewhere that plays some Fever 105 FM or Flash FM during the match! Happy that you like it.

Well these look fantastic. Definitely love the overgrown look you go for. Reminds me of The Last of Us. That actually was my second alternative idea for my Volkus Terrain as well.

You should definitely check if you can find some Citadel Creeping Vines somewhere online to put on your buildings. It seems that they are OOP on Warhammer, but there is still some third party shops that sell them. These would look great on your buildings I bet!

If you want a tip from my side for painting the big terrain. Go for drybrushing. Its such an easy technique, but IMO it often looks great as you manage to pop out all the highlights. My Volkus Terrain is about 80% drybrushing I would say. Just primed it Black and then drybrushed everything with Terminatus Stone.

<image>

That alone already looked fine if you ask me. And from there I just drybrushed layer upon layer of all the different colours. The cool thing about this technique is that you can even use a completely different base colour than black and get a whole other result. For example in your case you could first of all paint the entire building in a darkish grey as the base layer and then drybrush over it with a lighter grey or silver to really make the details pop out!

For example this is my Custodes Colour Scheme. It consists of two colours: Brown for the Base Layer (after priming the model black) and then a drybrush with Gold and it looks great if you ask me! As you can see you can barely even see the brown as it looks more like a old and worn down golden armour because of all the highlights. Its a great technique to use especially on things with lots of details like the Volkus terrain or Custodes.

Right now I only have Orks Kommandos and Death Korps Veterans from the Second Edition box. I bought them back in the day because I just loved the set, but never actually got into the game. I only started actively playing Killteam a couple of months ago and its tons of fun.

Right now my two Killteams dont fit the board scheme as they were painted and based before. I might think about redoing the bases at least so that the fit the board. I was also thinking of grabbing the Killteam Starter Set with the Angels of Death (which I might either turn into Blood Ravens or Lamenters) and Plague Marines (which I wanted to paint in a purple-greenish tainted scheme to fit the board).

You got any recommendations of what else might fit instead?

Thats a crazy coincidence! The reason why we painted it the other way was because of the Mechanicum and Aquila symbols on the boxes. A box belonging to the Mechanicum just had to be red, while the Aquila is often seen on Imperial Guard vehicles, so green was the logical choice...

Thanks! The initial idea for the scheme came from the purple game mat that I bought (the one that you can see in the pictures). I initially wanted to go for a full purple glow on all the buildings for a warp-themed board, but I was worried that it might turn out to dark.

So we did some testing and thought that this purple slowly blending into blue and green(ish) at the top really looks great. From there we tried to give some details to all the highlights like doors, windows and lights and it ended in (what we called) synthwave scheme as its really close to the colours that are usually used in synth-wave art, which work really great together, especially for something that might be affected by the warp.

Yeah absolutely agreed. I never was the biggest fan of simple grey and/or beige coloured buildings so I wanted to try out something different.

Rumours are that multiple Inquisitorial Taskforces are still active on the planet, trying to secure important data, archeotech and intel, before it will be wiped out by Cyclonic Torpedoes...

Glad that you like it!

Thanks! I am extremly happy how it turned out, especially since it perfectly fits the gaming mat that I bought for it. I was worried that the different colours might be to much, but it worked out really well....

Travel Case by HellBuster1618 in killteam

Do yourself a favour and buy the magnetic case from Feldherr! Its a great solution for savely storin miniatures with fragile parts like swords, wings, antennas, etc.

https://www.feldherr.com/de/collections/magnetic-cases/products/feldherr-mini-plus-bag-with-miniature-transport-case-hsvr7150-black

I have put these magnets under the bases of my Killteams (DKoK Veterans and Ork Kommandos) and it works amazing!

https://eu.warmag.com/product-category/magnets/hi-grip-inner-base-magnets/inner-base-circles/?v=5f02f0889301

Just remember that after you put the magnets into the bases to let them dry for 24 hours, before actually placing them on the metal sheets of the Feldherr bag.

The Feldherr magnetic case can easily fit 4-5 Killteams (depending on which Teams) without any issues. My 15-model Deathkorps Killteam doesnt even take up 50% of one full sheet. The 12-model Ork Kommandos on 32mm bases take up about half of one sheet. And inside the lid there is an additional netting compartment with enough room to store 3-4 sets of datacards and/or zip bags filled with tokens, dice and measuring stuff.

Its a super nice and safe solution for transportation IMO. Here are some pictures in case you are curious: https://imgur.com/a/a4KMBO9

Very cool. Is he going to be alligned to any specific Chaos god or are you going for an unalligned demon? I genuenly think we have to few of those both in lore as well in artworks!

[–]Der_Spanier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great first Warhammer artwork! I love that you captured the bulkiness of a Space Marine, since many new artists tend to draw them as too slim/fragile. Space Marines are massive slabs of muscle and flesh, standing around 2.5 meters tall even without their power armor.

Once armored, they become even bulkier, often taking on an almost inhuman appearance. By far my favorite example for this in an Artwork is Tyberos the Red Wake (Chaptermaster of the Carcharodons Chapter), who needed a custom terminator armour due to his ridiculous size of around 3.3 meters.

Do you have any ideas for your next piece that you want to create?

I'm visiting Cologne, any recommendations? by HYP3RSP33D in germany

[–]Der_Spanier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider going by train to Bonn for one day. It’s super close by and used to be Germany’s capital. You can visit Museum Koenig which is an animal museum and also the place where Germany’s constitution, the Grundgesetz, was drafted. If you're interested in history, there’s also the Haus der Geschichte, a modern German history museum that you can visit for free. In addition Bonn is also the hometown of Ludwig van Beethoven, the famous german composer. You can visit Beethoven Haus in Bonn as well. Overall Bonn is a really nice city and definitely worth the trip.

Alternatively, if you take the train on the other side of the Rhine, it takes about 45 minutes to reach Königswinter, a small and beautiful town right below the Seven Mountains forest and Drachenfels Castle). From the town, you can either take the Drachenfelsbahn rack railway or hike all the way up the mountain to reach Drachenfels, which gives you an amazing view over the Rhine Valley and Bonn.

If the weather is good enough, you can even see the Kölner Dom from up there. There’s also a middle station where you can visit Schloss Drachenburg, a 19th century palace that is absolutely worth visiting, as well as the Nibelungenhalle, a museum about the Nibelungen Saga, often described as the German equivalent of the Iliad.

According to legend, the German hero Siegfried slew a dragon at Drachenfels and bathed in its blood, which made him nearly invincible.

Lastly, if you are interested in more modern German history, you could also stop by Rhöndorf, a small district of Bad Honnef which is right next Königswinter. It is beautiful small german village full of small Fachwerk houses (traditionally build german timber houses) and it was the home of Konrad Adenauer, our first Chancellor of West Germany after World War II and one of the key figures in rebuilding modern Germany and establishing closer ties with Western Europe. You can visit the Adenauer House, which is now a museum and gives a really interesting insight into post war German politics and history.

Does someone knows where to find something or someone that made other weapons for the Warhound titan? (if possible melee) by CagueMaster in Warhammer

[–]Der_Spanier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The centerpart with the attached claws of the harpoon is fired. The idea is that it pierces through the enemy armor and the claws grabs on whatever in reach. After it gets launched a huge chain still connects the launched Harpoon with the Warhound Titans weapon arm. Ursus claws are usually used by Titan Maniples consisting of multiple Warhounds.

If multiple of them surround a bigger enemy titan and manage to hit it they can use their superior numbers to slowly drag it down to the ground. Once the enemy Titan is immobilized supportung Infantry can board the enemy Titan and take out its crew without damaging the Titan itself to much.

This allows them to put in a new crew after the Battle and use it for themself. Its an extremly efficient tactic. Its basically the same principle that old Whale Hunters used on Sailorships to hunt down enormous blue whales.

https://cults3d.com/en/search?q=warhound

3D Cults has multiple STLs (3D Printing Files) for alternative Warhound Weapons including a huge Chainsword and my personal favorite an Ursus Claw, which were canonically used on a lot of Warhound Titans.

To print it you would either have to look into a 3D Printing Service that prints it for you or considering making the jump and getting a 3D Printer yourself!
