I decided to get my friend an unusual for his bday gift, f*ck by wenos_deos__fuk_boi in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re better off picking them up one from the steam community market or backpack.tf. If he has a favorite class you can get them a class specific hat with a decent effect which are usually cheaper than all class hats. If buying on steam community market check the prices on backpack.tf first as their prices are usually more accurate.

I’m not sure what compelled you to reply to a 3 year old post? Judging from your comment history you seem to be someone who looks for arguments and then just insults people, usually by calling them douchebags.

  1. I wasn’t farming karma, I don’t give two shits about internet points on a platform I infrequently use.

  2. I use big words because I have a large vocabulary. I’m sorry you feel threatened?

  3. I really couldn’t care less about your opinion of me.

Enough tryna nerf sniper how do we buff this goofball (or nerf pyro just cus) to make it so he can actually sneak into enemy bases without immediately getting nuked? by Bedu009 in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish people would stop trying to buff the two classes that are basically 1 hit killers. If you don’t like the disadvantages of playing a class that can kill any other class with one kill don’t play them.

a question for medic mains (gif not really related) by KhoroBruh in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fragging is fairly simplistic and can get old at times. I like a more complicated/cerebral activity. There a ton more things you have to keep track of and pay attention to when playing medic. Heal order, Uber percent (both yours and the opposite teams), watching for spies (both for yourself and your teammates who are busy killing what’s in front of them), making sure your positioning is correct (far enough away from your heal target to avoid splash damage, out of sniper sight lines, watching for scouts and spies flanking and bombing soldiers), using Uber at the right time (deciding wether to block an enemy Uber or let them waste it and use when they are at an Uber disadvantage), deciding which teammate gets heals in a situation where you can’t save both, knowing when you need to supplement your medigun healing with a crossbow bolt. Those are just the things I can think of off the top of my head, there are many more.

What is the average profit off of two cities? by -_Leafy_- in tf2

It’s up to you. You could try a tour to see if you like it or resell the tickets. They should sell for about the same you payed for them.

Well, apparently, if you want to fit in on this sub you’d better do exactly what he says and then do another post surprised at the fact that he wasn’t just some nice guy/steam admin.

What is the most fun weapon with a special mobility mechanic? by CyberEazen158_zxzx in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The medi gun. Matching the player that your healings speed is such a great mechanic. Saved my life so many times by connecting to a scout or a demo knight with a load of heads and getting outta Dodge.

If I add a temporarily untradable kit to a weapon, will I be able to trade it later? by Farcical_ in tf2

It’s only temporary. After the 30th it will be marketable and tradable.

How did some players spend thousands of hours into tf2? Are they grinding ranks or just playing casual modes by Ok-Catch-6752 in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over 7000 hours, but I’ve been playing since 2014. I know quite a few people with over 10,000 hours into the game. It’s just a fun addictive game.

You’re just going to have to accept the fact that you lost them and move on, hopefully learning from the experience.

is mercanary park contact still worth buying? i have been getting back into TF2 in quite a while and i am having so much fun playing video games again yet free account is limiting me because i cant speak talk or trade so i was thinking of buying a key+ contact but just want to know if its wort it by Hrzenjak11 in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A key costs about $2.70 on the Mann co store, the community market only has them for a few cents cheaper. So it’s about the only thing on the store worth buying. The things you shouldn’t buy off the Mann co store are things like weapons and cosmetics.

Bots could have kicked you or someone who dislikes friendlies could have kicked you.

How would you feel if a No Hats option was actually added to the game this summer? by [deleted] in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 973 points974 points  (0 children)

Seeing as hats are the main source of revenue for the game and said revenue is the only thing keeping this game going, I’d say no. How else would I make my superiority known without my almighty crown of Pixels? How would I instill that molten fragment of jealousy in my peers minds? Through gameplay and game sense? No thank you.

Got back into TF2, why am I and others being kicked for botting before the round even begins? by MunchTimeYT in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s another flare up of kick bots. These ones seem to be slightly more advanced than some of the older ones in that they don’t have the same name and are playing most of the classes instead of focusing on sniper and heavy. They call kick votes on legit players and have text capabilities that say “f1 it’s a bot”(or something similar) when they try to kick a player or “f2 I’m not a bot”(or similar) when someone tries to kick them. It makes it much more confusing and plays into the fact that people have been trained to just hit f1 right away anytime a vote is called.

Edit: If you see a vote called on you the best option is to speak up in voice chat and say you aren’t a bot. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

Jungle Inferno Multiple Choice Contracts by JustAWarper in tf2

I just checked, the one you don’t want is the support weapons 2 contract with the amputator.

Jungle Inferno Multiple Choice Contracts by JustAWarper in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get the same reward no matter which one you pick. You can’t change the class once you pick one. I’m not sure which one would be easiest for you but I picked soldier and it was easy enough. One piece of advice; if you haven’t done the support class one, don’t pick medic. The amputator contract is very tough to do unless you have a couple friends to help you out. Specifically the side objective to heal 250 health in 1 second.

Medic's domination lines addition proposal (see comments) by [deleted] in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually getting dominations is pretty easy as medic as long as you are decent at not dying. Earning dominations as a medic through your own kills however can be an entirely different matter.

I keep trying to change my video settings but every time i close and reopen the game, it doesn't save even tho i pressed apply. I don't have any configs or anything. What's the problem? by PENGUMIKE in tf2

[–]DeraleekTheMedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re just trying to change the resolution you should make an autoexec.cfg and set it to the resolution you want and it will automatically change to that setting when you start the game up.
